RE: Silver lining thread
If I think there's a silver lining is the Republican Party making major dents into minority populations. The Jewish block has mostly swung to the right and we're seeing Republicans African Americans win governor races. This is something very much worth tapping into in future elections.

I don't think the platform itself is inherently awful, there's actually a ton to like, but the party's road map to accomplish that was more or less state solutions instead of the market fixing itself. We as Republicans need to go back to being small government Republicans again. I think everyone in this board realizes we need to produce sht again.

The Party will definitely have to turn to someone outside of the current admin if they want yo win POTUS in 2028.

What will solve the problem is AI transforming society. But to the extent that doesn't move fast enough, inflation will fill in the gaps. Even Trump understands this.

Trump aggressively expanded the deficit, and it didn’t seem to help his party very much at the ballot box today. As I’m looking at the voting right now, Democrats are leading in FREAKING MISSISSIPPI with 97% of the vote in. What’s it been, 100 years since a Democrat was elected to Senate in Mississippi? Republicans are supposed to be fiscally conservative instead of trying to one up Joe Biden in the wasteful spending department.

The only silver lining here is that there is going to be a long overdue reckoning within the Republican Party, else we will see more election days like today down the road.

Well I texted my girlfriend on Monday before the election my official prediction for the Senate. Here is what I wrote:

"I have a feeling it will end up being 56 seats. Might not be the way we think. Nebraska might barely stay red and a state like MS out of the blue barely flip due to the data center thing and all the souls to the polls."

And here we are.. My prediction is appearing more and more likely to be exactly how it turns out.

I can think of only one silver lining: if Republicans have half a brain, and even a semblance of a spine, they will not ever again look to Donald Trump’s endorsement regarding future candidates at any level.

Just the typical ebb and flow when the incumbent in the WH becomes deeply unpopular due to broken promises and poor execution. We'll have gridlock.

A sobering thought for Texas...there is basically no path to elect a GOP president without Texas. With the current EC totals, if the dems take Texas, they would have 141 votes when you include California, New York, and Illinois. That's over half of what they need.

Perhaps you all should revisit your cheering when voters left California for Texas? 03-wink

This stuff happens every few years. America will get a taste of the crazy socialists, sharia law, open borders, and whatever else they can come up with and vote red in two years just like they did in 24.

I think it's all fixed to work this way. Nothing ever really changes.

One word: VETO

The Democrat congress can pass all the garbage they want and it’s going nowhere.

That said, republicans clearly need some sort of motivation to get off their a$$es and get out to vote.

The democrats will get in there and go full retard. They ALWAYS do.

Go ahead and impeach Trump again. Pass a bunch tranny legislation. You be you.

Then after two years idiocy personified and no more orange man to hate… the republicans will get off the couch and the dumbocrats will be back to having to win an election solely on the merits of their candidate.

I'm actually hoping the Dems go straight back to doing what lost them the last Presidential election. All indications indicate that's what they plan to do. We all know how that turned out.

Republicans will never show up to vote again.

It's over.

The party is dead.

Relax.

We survived that sub80 Kenyan.

Two years of vetoes and we take it all back.

Gridlock is a good thing.

Meanwhile the Exec and Scotus are ours

Tennessee Florida and Bama held the line.

Its all good.

I think the silver lining is this will allow the Republican Party to lick his wounds and distance themselves from Trump in 2028. The Dems are about to double down on the Lawfare, open borders, DEI, Socialism, LGBTQ+ etc. They can’t help themselves.
