Silver lining thread
The next two years will be full of Trump impeachment crap, nothing to bring down costs (because govt can’t control that), and a bunch of broken promises on free stuff.

That should help set up republicans well for 2028. The whole “they kept none of their promises” slogans.

On another note, IRCG best prepare to pucker those back holes. My guess is Trump will move fast, with extreme prejudice, to finish them off before the new Congress is sworn in.

On a personal note, I can’t believe the people of my fine state are going to elect Amy Acton. The woman is drunk, or high, at half her appearances. She couldn’t handle the pressure of the Covid crisis and quit. She’s a hot mess. I guess the liberal, white, wine moms could really relate to her, not realizing that since they are unqualified, so is she.

States that elect Democrats deserve all the negative consequences of their actions.
Simply rule: If you want something better NEVER vote for a Democrat.

Well Keisha Lance Bottoms didn't run for reelection as Atlanta mayor because she would finish way back in the pack. The silver lining might be that Georgia won't elect another Democrat as governor for a generation after 4 years of Keisha.

Problem is Trump looks like a guy with a bunch of broken promises. He ignored the kitchen table economics. Hard pill to swallow for regular people when bragging about leading in the Tech race or these manufacturing jobs coming tomorrow when the financial issues are here today. He just didn’t sell his vision well enough.

And he has added to the deficit, big time.

The deficit in a joke. It's beyond the point where it can be solved in any meaningful way by spending cuts or tax increases. What will solve the problem is AI transforming society. But to the extent that doesn't move fast enough, inflation will fill in the gaps. Even Trump understands this.

Yes, and also no one wanted to hear that people were getting more concerned over the fears that we are experiencing “Late Stage Capitalism”. That was very tone deaf on Trumps part.

Meh. The Dems were bound to win in Texas eventually. I was just hoping it would've been a long way off, but it's here.

Oh, well. I'm still alive and I'm still decently healthy despite my kidney problems.

Nobody in DC cares about the deficit, or at least not 95% of them. It won't come due in their time in office. Nobody has cared since Newt.

The GOP really needs to address this situation. If that's the direction Texas is heading in over the next few years, there's no point in even trying.

As it stands, Talarico won by a million votes. That isn't californication, that's a rebuttal

Trump aggressively expanded the deficit, and it didn’t seem to help his party very much at the ballot box today. As I’m looking at the voting right now, Democrats are leading in FREAKING MISSISSIPPI with 97% of the vote in. What’s it been, 100 years since a Democrat was elected to Senate in Mississippi? Republicans are supposed to be fiscally conservative instead of trying to one up Joe Biden in the wasteful spending department.

The only silver lining here is that there is going to be a long overdue reckoning within the Republican Party, else we will see more election days like today down the road.
