The Obamacare debt keeps piling in. The interest on the Obama debt and the Biden* debt keeps piling in.


The late 90's had little to do with Clinton and everything to do with Newt and the republican congress. They had to force that down his throat to get him to sign it.

Now, take the debt that originated by president and apply it only to that president and see what you get. Clinton can even get credit for the 90's stuff that Newt did. Now let's see where that debt originated from. IE: Obamacare continual debt keeps getting added to Obamas column.

Yes!

I wasn't really taking issue with what you said...just making that point as this thread is about the deficit and immediately several posters seems to think it was about the debt...which many often confuse and conflate.

The President can spend the funds as he sees fit. Those funds are appropriated to him by Congress. Congress can cut all funding for the Military if they want and therefore stop the war.

The interest on debt payments have been climbing disturbingly fast. No one cares and debt hawks in congress have dropped like flies recently.

It will come due. And ALMOST every politician will share the blame. The way the government and people will choose to get rid of it will probably be through heavy inflation. 8% inflation for a few years cuts it without having to do the tough cuts in spending. Not the way I would prefer, but I don't see anyone actually cutting spending.

Framing it like this ... even more depressing.
