But, Muh Polls!?! I seen that before.

Ross, who portrays the apostle Little James in the popular faith-based television series, announced his endorsement in a campaign video promoting Faithful Texans for Talarico, an initiative intended to attract religious voters.
“A lot of politicians like to talk about Christian values, but you don’t really see that reflected in their legislation or the way that they live, but you do see that in the way that James lives. He loves his neighbor; he takes care of the needy, the sick, the immigrant,” Ross said.

You won’t see it in Talarico either if he pulls the upset.

RE: Republicans for Talarico
In a twist nobody expected, a name Texans see on billboards across Texas is weighing in...
![[Image: James-Talarico-Campaigns-For-Senate-In-K...-Getty.jpg]](https://media.nbcsandiego.com/2026/10/James-Talarico-Campaigns-For-Senate-In-Kerrville-T-2292925776-Getty.jpg)
On Wednesday, October 21, Texas personal injury attorney Thomas J. Henry, known for his billboards across the state, released a video on social media announcing that he's backing Talarico.
"The reason I'm supporting James is I had the opportunity to meet with him in person for quite a long period of time and go over the issues that affect Texas and affect our country," Henry said in the video. "I found that James' approach to these problems that affect Texas and our country was balanced, straightforward and honest."
The endorsement is a bit of a twist, considering that Henry supported Paxton in the May Republican primary over incumbent Sen. John Cornyn. In May, Henry donated $646,107 to Lone Star Liberty PAC, a political action committee supporting Paxton. Henry explained his previous endorsement in his video as well, saying that he thought Cornyn had simply been in office for "way too long."
Henry said while he was troubled that Paxton would not debate Cornyn, he supported Paxton anyway. Then, as he learned more about Paxton's various scandals, Henry came to believe he should meet with Talarico.
"It taught me the values Talarico has, the value he has for respect, fairness, safety, good economics for Texas and our country and a balanced approach to all the issues," Henry concluded. "I am so proud to support James Talarico for U.S. Senate."
....
Henry is far from the first prominent Texas attorney to back Talarico. Earlier this summer, longtime Texas attorney Dan Cogdell, who represented Paxton in his 2023 impeachment and his securities fraud cases, came out for Talarico on his podcast.

A lot of it has to do with the fact Texas Republicans were hesitant to get behind him do to the allegations against him. I mean better late than never, but if we had given the GOP nod to Wesley Hunt, we wouldn't even be at this stage of the game.
Like I said earlier---Im not sure the current primary system is serving the average voter very well. It seems to be an apparatus that has been hijacked by the more extreme wing of BOTH parties. Granted, I know its the failure of the "normie" voter to be more enganged in the primary system---but I would think there would be a way for the Party to recognize this and find a way to increase the likelihood that the candidate with the best chance to win a general election is the candidate who emerges from the process rather than candidates who tend to be less palatable to the typical party voters in the general election.

According to Google AI (I know...but I don't feel like looking up campaign finance reports), Thomas Henry's overall history apparently has him and/or his firm sending the majority of his past campaign contributions to Democrat candidates and left of center groups.
So...this isn't some shocker that many in the media are making it out to be. If anything, maybe he wanted Paxton, with his flaws and personal issues, to be the GOP candidate in the runoff.
Again, had TX GOP Primary voters gone with Wesley Hunt, a sitting Congressman who is viewed overall positively amongst not only conservatives, but the general voting public in general, much better than Paxton, this race likely wouldn't be close.
But here we are. Hardcore Paxton supporters and the wing of MAGA who view him as "the best AG in the would" are going to just whine and blame GOPe and/or voter fraud if Talarico wins.

I just think way more resources have had to be utilized in keeping the Senate seat here in Texas red, when it could have been much easier, and still have gotten rid of old ass Cornyn.
I still think Paxton wins, but in no way should someone like Talarico be even remotely as close as he is in this state. Ken Paxton was caught on tape blaming President Trump for his numbers, when in fact, the President is having to carry his ass on this thing.

Hopefully the recent developments in the news of Houston-area Democrats finding themselves in deep legal trouble helps. You'd at least hope.
Fort Bend County Treasurer under Federal indictment, and the Harris County Treasurer trying to flee an accident she caused and also somehow, with a six figure salary that she'd likely never garner in the private sector, somehow couldn't afford vehicle insurance.

RE: Republicans for Talarico
James Talarico is embracing a nickname President Donald Trump (80) has used to mock him—and turning it into campaign merchandise.
New “I’m A Talafreako” shirts are now available through the Democratic U.S. Senate candidate’s online store. The tees, available in black and white, start at $36.
Trump has repeatedly referred to Talarico as “Talafreako,” adopting a nickname that had previously been used by Talarico’s Republican opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Rather than distancing himself from the label, Talarico has leaned into it. He referenced the nickname during his recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel and is now giving supporters a way to wear it as campaign merchandise.
The shirts are among several items sold by Talarico’s campaign store, which also includes “Talarico for Texas” and “Texas Is Talarico Country” apparel.

Talarico is also selling a pen inscribed with the words “Not Ken Paxton’s Pen,” a reference to a 2012 incident in which Paxton was accused of taking a $1,000 Montblanc pen that had been left near a courthouse security checkpoint.
The incident was featured in a Talarico campaign ad, which included surveillance footage showing Paxton picking up the pen and walking away. The pen’s owner, attorney Joe Joplin, later recovered it after contacting courthouse security and police. Joplin, who did not press charges, appears in the ad endorsing Talarico for U.S. Senate.

I've heard reports that the Dems "blue" their load too early in Texas. We're supposed to have a really good turnout and vote in enough numbers to win every statewide race, including the Senate one.

Senate.
