But I had to walk 4 blocks round trip to pick it up. (Delivery people aren't what they used to be, lol.)
Well I had a $7 bacon cheeseburger at Mercedes Benz Stadium plus $2 order of fries. Bought a regular cheeseburger and a hot dog for $7 to go for my daughter. She didn't go to the Georgia-Florida game with us. Arthur Blank decided to make the food affordable at his stadium. And its pretty decent.
Just wish they had put as much thought into the men's restrooms. Worst lines of any stadium I've ever been at. Of course, I've been there often enough, I knew to avoid it at peak times.
What was tough was leaving. Got on the train and at one stop people just kept piling in until they couldn't squeeze any more in. Then it wouldn't start. They shut off the lights and AC and didn't make any announcements. We sat there for 15 minutes with a couple of claustrophobic people panicking. Apparently a door in one of the other cars was malfunctioning. We finally got going. Didn't have to worry about high winds, just crazy people. Most of the crowd got off at the next stop which is where you switch between east/west and north/south trains.

This time of year you shouldn't have to worry about the buses being overcrowded in Zion. But they do get pretty full in the summer.

I lived in Atlanta for 33 years. Very familiar with all that. The bad thing is you went through all that and didn't get to see any tourist attractions, lol.
But GA-FL is great fun, especially if UGA wins. I attended one in Jax a few years back. Best tailgate ever, perhaps. And UGA won. :)

It's raining the hardest I can remember in a long time. Authorities have actually shut down all roads and banned traffic until 11 pm tonight. I have never seen that before.
But...it's raining hard at the Grand Canyon now, too. So what the hell. And I thought this was the freaking desert, lol.
This is what I get for saying that I hadn't had a drop of rain since I went on the road on Aug 22. Since then, I got 3 straight days in Tucumcari, and now this monsoon. Enough already!
Song title: Stuck in Holbrook
Lyrics:
It's Sunday and I'm still stuck in Holbrook
This Arizona town — I thought was worth a look
The rain's hittin' hard; its a freaking monsoon
Chilly in November; would be better in June
Authorities have closed the roads
Traffic banned til 11 p.m. tonight
I've never seen that before
Can't wait for mornin' light
It's raining hard
'Bout as hard as I've seen
Pelting the Grand Canyon now
This dessert country's mean
I left August 22
Set out from Memphis town
Got three straight days in Tucumcari
Not real sure where I'm bound
I mocked the lack of rain
Since taking to the road
Now the skies have opened
Dumping quite a load
And I thought the desert dry
No gray cloud in her sky
But it's Sunday and I'm still stuck in Holbrook
This Arizona town — I thought was worth a look
Holy crap, BD. That's brilliant! I'm actually going to save that.
I'll get you more input after I leave the Grand Canyon, lol.
And then again for the Mighty 5 in Utah.
Your post got my creative juices flowing, Trips.
Stay dry and (as the Most Interesting Man in the World would say) ... stay thirsty, my friend.

Update. The skies have mostly cleared now, but the wind forgot to leave with the clouds. Current conditions are sunny, with winds 20 to 30 mph, and gusting to 50 mph. No fool would drive in those conditions.
Hell, I'm sitting still here, and getting absolutely rocked. Hope my new trailer holds together, lol. It's creaking and groaning.
Local weather saying it will pass by 7 am (about the time I want to leave). I hope that holds.

Good news. I just made it to the Grand Canyon! Just got camp set up. Excited to see it first thing tomorrow. Should be the highlight of my trip. Wish I could post pics. Will figure it out after I get home, if possible.

Don't sleep in and miss sunrise. Or sunset. They can be spectacular.

We got a great view of sunset without planning just as we were going to leave the park from the South Rim. I think it was from Desert View or Lipan Point.

And this morning, I woke up at 1 am, after falling asleep about 7:30 pm. You never have to worry about me oversleeping, lol.

I stayed at Grand Canyon village on the south rim last time I was there. Sunset with a drink from the El Tovar bar while waiting for dinner was great.
The rim trail is flat, and has several bus stops on it where you can get a ride back to the visitors center or village. Definitely check out the village, gets you away from the tour bus crowds. Grab some hot chocolate from the little snack bar there and sit on a bench.

All good ideas. I'm sitting here at the Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel eating breakfast and mainlining coffee.
Almost froze to death last night. Tank went dry. I couldn't get the cover off to switch tanks. Temp was in the 20s. Trailer temp got down to 41. That's cold!

Apparently I didn't. Just got back. Man, that was freaking AWESOME! Can't see that anywhere else. I expected spectacular, but it exceeded my lofty expectations.
Second thing I've seen that made me tear up a bit. Rushmore was the other.
