For those that don’t remember—Dems were fine with high gas prices because they believed it would push people toward electric cars.

Yep

Just another reason to hate prog filth

Well, that was before there was a need to ease prices prior to the 2022 midterm elections.

No. The deal was for two years. It lasted from May 2020 through April of 2022. Yes, the initial production cut was higher, but the production cuts lasted for two years.

those are the deals you make unless one expects the election to be stolen by mr. green jeans and Corp…

keep dodging why bidet* mucked that to hell and back…

And it had no effect on oil produced in Canada, the U S and Mexico which is where our oil comes from. So, again why was gas at $4.96/gal in June 2022? We have proven it WASN'T from some deal Trump made in 2020 that reduced OPEC oil production by 6 million bbl/day which we don't even know happened anyway once Trump left office in January 2021.

You just simply don't know what you're talking about. Oil is a global commodity. It doesn't really matter exactly where we get our oil from directly as to how much we end up paying for gas at the pump. And it sometimes takes over a year for a change in production to end up effecting prices. Especially when rig counts fell and US oil company bankruptcies increased.

The present war will eventually end (likely within a month) and prices will fall back. There is a good possibility, I think, that they could go lower than before the war now that the Iranian threat has been significantly degraded.

Dems, criticize now, but be prepared to praise Trump should gas prices fall or be tarred with yet another layer of hypocrisy.

Complete fantasy. And no, the prices aren't going to fall back for a long time. Even trumps own government are having them higher than before the excursion, through 2027.

Quote:According to the EIA’s projections, which were published last week, gas prices will likely stay around $3.34 per gallon for the rest of 2026. The agency is also predicting prices to average around $3.18 for 2027, meaning that gas prices won’t be below the $3 threshold, where they stood before the start of the war, until possibly 2028.

Projections? Projections change from day to day. Sorta like a weather forecast. "No rain tomorrow". Wake up tomorrow and it's raining. "50% chance of rain today".
When oil gets back to $70/bbl, gas prices will also go down. There is NO oil shortage in the US. We are flush with oil. It isn't a supply issue that is causing higher gas prices, it is speculation. Oil companies are making money hand over fist right now. Venezuelan oil imports are increasing every week and will going forward. We have decreased our exports of oil over 25% during the past few weeks to increase our supply.

Now this is a good Point. I'm pretty sure I recall Tom saying that was a good thing or the whole point... Something like that. I'm

Well yea it expired under Biden, what did you expect him to do? Negotiate? That would mean that Dems would have to have some balls about them to deal with people besides their sheep that lap it up. Notice Tom will scream and defend any liberal tooth and nail and claim all our problems are due to Trump even when it slaps him in the face that the liberals are the cause of the problems. Water carrier indeed. Tom should listen to me, I'm a self proclaimed expert.

How about this ..... most of us are OK with this as long as the ultimate goal of making our entire planet a far safer place without Iran Nuke capabilities is achieved.

Does that make me a hypocrite when I did not agree with it happening under Biden? Maybe/maybe not, but I am Ok with this current prices spike for the moment.

- Iran will hopefully be neutered
- We have finally and fully exposed NATO for what it is (The US carrying the majority of the load)
- The UN has been exposed as mostly useless (by mostly - i mean about 98%)

The NATO thing bothers me in the same way that the UN does and the way our Tariff situation has been.

The US has been taken advantage of by most of the rest of the world and we have been complicit in that by allowing it. In the name of world peace (AKA Getting along) we just keep cutting checks regardless of whether that money is used in our best interest (or at the very least, NOT directly against us). Our Debt grows by the minute and the rest of the world could give a schidt as long at the check clears when we send them our $$upport.

Trump may be brash and arrogant and a bunch of other things that turn people off, but the guy wants to level the playing field once and for all..... I am on board with that.

It seems American oil companies are taking advantage by price gouging when the oil we have is not impacted at all.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Not for the moment at least. It is a world commodity and therefore one price fits all (to over simplify it).

100%. That's not how oil companies work. They don't set the price for a gallon of gas and they don't set the price per barrel of oil.

I can't remember all the ins and outs, but our pricing domestically is set by OPEC/Stock Market... Even if we have it here, we're beholden to it IMSMC

I'm afraid the ramifications of the moronic decisions being made by trump aren't going to be fully known for years. The worlds is simply moving on without us. We're losing our position as the leader of the world. Countries are instead embracing places like China and India and they're making trade deals and such without us.

This chapter will likely be known as the worst in American history.

You voted for this, congratulations. Just make sure to own it.
