I did not need a civics class... Just parents who taught me how to properly act.

"Yes Sir" really puts potential tension and confrontation to rest quickly.

It amazes me how much less (no) trouble there is when there is respect shown. In kind, it is amazing how much things can escalate in a flash when you decide to defy LEOs.

That does not excuse rouge or compromised LEOs, but it sure does keep people from getting shot in the face - like 99.9999% of the time.
Unfortunately, not everyone is responsible like our parents. Many Dem parents apparently are silent or advocate resistance. Teaching proper protocol in school helps create a compact of behavior.

Democrats never take responsibility for their actions.

The Confederate States of America solicited designs for a national flag early in 1861. Hundreds of designs were submitted and on May 4, 1861, the First National Flag was adopted (there would eventually be two others). Nicknamed the “Stars & Bars,” it originally had seven stars for the first seven states to secede. It would eventually have 13 stars, representing all the states in the Confederacy.

In the spring of 1862, the Confederacy solicited proposals for a new flag. Many felt the First National Flag was too similar to the United States flag. The Confederate Congress adopted the Second National Flag on May 1, 1863. The flag combined a canton of a blue saltire emblazoned with stars (a popular design proposed for the national flag and used in battle by many regiments) and a pure white field to symbolize the purity of the cause the Confederacy felt it represented.

By late 1864, complaints of the Second National Flag looking too much like a flag of truce drove the Confederacy to consider a revision. On March 4, 1865, a red stripe was added to the outer half of the field. This was the third and last national flag of the Confederate States of America.

Military units commonly carried distinct flags for identification on the battlefield. They were used as signals, markers and inspiration for troops. Confederate regiments used a variety of battle flags. The Army of Northern Virginia and several other regiments chose the blue saltire on a red field emblazoned with white stars. It was also adopted as a symbol of the Confederacy by veteran groups in post-wartime.

No, I once hired professionals to search historical records to see if I had an ancestor who fought in the CW (either side), but found nothing.

I'm just a huge CW buff, and have traveled to quite a few CW sites (with more planned). And I have yet to visit the NCM in Columbia, but it's on my list.

Wife and I were there last summer. Visited the James Polk house then drove to the museum. Toured the Spring House too. Spring House wasn't kept to authentic historical standards but still good. There's A LOT of stuff jammed in that place.

We enjoyed it.

Of course not. You're still ignorant and I can't help you. You still are going to regurgitate all the talking points you hear and then plug your fingers in your ears when you hear something different, then project.

We know. We've seen your ilk come and go.

I view it through the same lens of what happened yesterday with the ICE agent. He was concerned about his safety and the safety of the other officers on the scene.

One person came through a window. He could have easily shot through the window and hit one of his fellow officers who were calmly escorting people down the stairs and out of the building. It was a totally unreasonable shooting. Don't sit there and tell us lies about what was going on at the time. He came out from behind a column, marched up and shot a woman who was semi-stuck in a window.

Your view and my view are completely different, obviously. They aren't being escorted out, they are breaking windows and trying to break down the doors. On top of that she was given plenty of warning that the officer had his gun out... others trying to break down the door said "he has a gun" for 5 seconds before the officer shot her.

Again, I'm not going to question someone in law enforcement when they are in the heat of the moment and have concern for their own safety or the safety of others whom they are trying to protect. Just as I'm not questioning the ICE officer as he felt he and his fellow agents were at risk so he took it upon himself to mitigate that risk.

Really? Concerned for his safety? Watch the video and see what’s going on all around him.

Yet, he shoots the animal caught in a trap.

How noble and brave of him!

I’ll bet everyone who needs security is lining up to hire him

The Democrats are hypocrites. If this script had been flipped this cop would be called a murderer.

It really is that simple

Conflating these two incidents is like comparing a buffalo to a dog

Of course

My dad's side of my family is mostly buried in a cemetery outside of Livingston. (He's even buried there.) I have quite a few ancestors who fought in the Civil War buried there. (I've also been told I have an ancestor who fought for the Union side who's buried somewhere in Kentucky, I think? I can't remember.) I'm also (supposedly) descended from Peter Stuyvesant, one of the governors of New Netherland, which is now New York State. Oh, and by way of my late paternal grandmother, I'm related to the interim President of Texas, David G. Burnet (through his brother) as well as the Grimes' family, who were part of the Second Austin Colony. (In fact, Granny's mom's maiden name was Grimes.)

True, but it does prove that you talk out your butt about things you don't really know, which could explain why you support the current version of the Dem party.

Far-Left DA Mary Moriarty Threatens to Prosecute ICE Agent Who Fired in Self-Defense Against Violent Agitator

Quote:[Image: high-res-image-2025-05-04t012448.509.png]

The far-left Hennepin County Attorney’s Office is now claiming it has the “authority” to bring criminal charges against a federal ICE agent who was forced to use his weapon in self-defense on Wednesday.

The incident occurred during a targeted enforcement operation in South Minneapolis as part of a broader Trump administration crackdown on illegal immigration.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was acting as a “violent rioter” when she allegedly weaponized her SUV, attempting to ram and kill federal officers.

The agent, already doxxed by the legacy media, was identified as a 10-year veteran who discharged his weapon after Good allegedly accelerated her vehicle toward him.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem praised the officer’s split-second decision-making, stating he “used his training to save his own life and that of his colleagues.”

Ross is no stranger to the dangers of the Twin Cities; records show he was seriously injured last year after being dragged by a fleeing vehicle during a similar operation.

VP JD Vance mentioned that the officer involved had been “dragged by a car six months ago” and required 33 stitches in his legs, a fact conveniently omitted by the fake news media.

Despite the federal nature of the incident, Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty, a prosecutor notorious for her “soft-on-crime” approach, is vowing to use “every available lever to ensure a local, transparent investigation takes place.”

“We have jurisdiction to bring charges, as do the feds,” Daniel Borgertpoepping, a spokesperson for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office told ABC News.

“It’s a little bit of a complicated interplay but the bottom line is yes, we have jurisdiction to bring criminal charges.”

In an interview with MS NOW, Minnesota’s far-left Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan doubled down on the rhetoric.

While federal officials maintain that ICE agents were performing their lawful duties to remove illegal aliens and maintain public safety, Flanagan and other state Democrats are framing the presence of federal law enforcement as “unconstitutional.”

Flanagan framed federal agents as the primary source of danger in Minnesota.

“These ICE agents, right, who are here under the guise somehow of safety have done nothing but make us less safe,” Flanagan claimed.

She went on to accuse the agents of “detaining American citizens,” “throwing people into the backs of vans,” arresting legal observers and innocent bystanders,” and even “deploying chemical agents around children.”

The Lieutenant Governor repeatedly called for a “full and fair, transparent investigation,” stating that “Renee Goode deserves justice.”

However, she expressed deep frustration that the FBI has rescinded its cooperation with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).

“The FBI has stopped working with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. And, you know, I don’t—what are they afraid of? I guess is my question,” Flanagan said.

She admitted that pursuing state-level charges against federal agents would be “really, really difficult” without FBI cooperation but insisted that state officials and Minnesotans would continue to “demand” the truth.

Rather than calling for calm or supporting the rule of law, the Lieutenant Governor appeared to validate the anger of the mobs, stating, “We are going to show up… we are going to express our deep sadness and lament and our anger.”

Did you ever consider joining the Sons of the Confederacy? Since you actually are one?

NM, I know the answer. 03-lmfao

Thought about it. I guess I never understood what I'd get out of it.

One of my best friends from all the way back to middle school was in the Sons of the Confederacy. What a hoot that man was. Brave to the point of stupid. He literally saved my life when we were about 20. He died about 6 years ago. Rest in peace Brother.

Not that anyone here cares. Certain things trigger certain memories.

There would have to be a change of venue out of Minneapolis and the State of Minnesota since the Mayor and Governor came out within an hour saying it was 'Murder'.

It involves - in part - obeying law enforcement personnel instructions and not taking any action endangering them. Law enforcement, however, should also be held accountable and reports from citizens about their mis-conduct should be taken seriously and investigated.

You only need one question : Am I being detained or am I free to go?

If you are being detained STFU and contact lawyer when you can. If you are free to go leave.

Open a school. You have the answers. I noticed you didn't say "floor it with a cop in front of you while your 'wife' is on the curb filming you for Tik Tok".
