The offer is too good.

Trump is systematically and strategically walling off the 2 biggest threats in the world.

Its a masterclass and all the left can do is sit back and complain. How about shut your trap and say thanks on behalf of your kids and grandkids.

Also buffering us from most of Europe's imminent demise.

Trump won’t be truly appreciated by most folks until decades later. They’ll finally realize all that he was doing into preserving this country and put it in the most secure position possible for the coming global collapse.

When are you going to stop whining about how he talks to people? I don't give a rats ass if he calls a meeting with the pope and tells him to kiss his ass in front of the Sisters of Mercy. I didn't vote for him because he's a gifted orator or because he's tactful in his speech.

I said weeks ago, as did someone else here, that there are about 55K peeps there. If we paid them even $1M apiece, that's still just $55B.

Chump change for a huge land mass between us and the weirdos in the other hemisphere.

Europe is lost...America is all alone and needs to take care of itself.

Greenland makes sense, especially now that China has the capability to take subs under the ice. America also needs the rare earths.

Precisely!!

Most of those NATO countries will no longer be our ideological counterparts in 30 years. (Now really if you want to be honest about it.) Time to break away now, save the money we were giving to them, and shore up the Americas and let Europe continue to fall off a cliff.

I disagree. How the president talks to people is perhaps the most important part of his job.

As I know you are aware, TB4E, the “Donald Vanity Trading Cards” were not real. He is not the person going in to capture Maduro and his wife; that was a bunch of unnamed heroes in Delta Force. He is not the person actually securing the border; that is a bunch of hardworking border patrol agents. He is not the person providing security to a bunch of our scummiest blue cities; that is our young National Guardsmen putting their lives on the line for others.

When it comes to foreign policy, I do try to keep my comments to a minimum. Because I don’t know if there might actually be a disguised diplomatic benefit to our president trash talking an ally. It is possible, although unlikely, that he is advancing our interests in spouting off with what otherwise appear to be very stupid comments.

But you guys don’t know that either. And there is nothing whatsoever wrong with WSME, or anyone else, having concerns that Donald Trump is yet again making things much worse (and much more dangerous) for those tasked with carrying out his policies.

And, in response to someone else’s post, yes I DO think that Donald Trump is vain and stupid enough to do exactly that. Whether that is what is going on with his recent Greenland comments, I just don’t know.

AM, I have a different take. I agree that sometimes Trump's mouth overloads his ass, or at least, he doesn't do himself any favors.

BUT...in a ranking of things wrong with our country that need fixing, that is WAY down my list. Especially when you look at the sorry crap that is the Dem party right now.

I don't like Trump's personality, I have felt that way since he signed Herschel Walker in the 1980s, but he has accomplished so many spectacular things (especially compared to the do nothing Dems), that for me, it's easy to overlook this other stuff.

As for Greenland, it was reported yesterday that we intend to buy Greenland. We'll see.

I'm with you on this. AM, Trump's personality also rubs me the wrong way a lot of times. However, considering the fact being super nice in dealing with the left hasn't worked, I'll take him over milquetoast Mitt Romney or Jeb Bush. (You may not, and that's okay. I'm personally speaking as a lifelong Republican.)

As for Greenland, if we're able to buy it, great! We're not going to take it by using military force.

As much as I like you, you're all over the place when it comes to Trump. He's a big meanie one week, and then the next he's doing great. Do you honestly think anyone he speaks to is going to make serious decisions based on some off-the-cuff remarks he made?

You need to pick a side. It really is that simple. Stop the fence-sitting so that you can fall off one way or the other, of your own choosing. You don't have to love the man, you don't even have to like him, but you do have to support him. At least if you're as much of a patriot as you present, then you do.

I'll take the ugly woman who knows how to please a man and isn't shy over the young blushing virgin who has no experience at handling coarseness.

You see vulgarity, brashness, and typical New York and cry because he speaks crassly. I see results and say I don't give a crap about how he talks, particularly to our enemies and even more particularly to our so-called friends who will stab us in the back the minute the opportunity arises for them to do so without repercussions.

What's the point of civil discourse with an enemy beyond a certain point? Are you going to be civil to the guy after he pushes past you into your home to rob you?

The things you guys find to whine about when the whole damn world is falling apart and one of the few people trying to do anything about it is our own POTUS is a curiosity.

I assume you guys who are whining about him would have been fine with another democrat. No? Then stfu about Trump being a big old meanie and get fully behind his agenda. It's one thing to say I don't like that he said such and such; it's quite another to have a thread this long go on for as long as it has over what amounts to nothing.

I told y'all that this "issue" would be but an afterthought by the next news cycle, and some of you have done everything you can to extend it beyond its shelf life. IOW, it's becoming stale. No one is talking about it anymore except us.

And don't mistake any of that for blind loyalty. When he DOES something with which I disagree, I express it. And that's fine. It's constant nitpicking at words that rustle my jimmies. Do I wish he were better spoken? Yeah. Is it an issue worthy of a 4-5-page-long debate? Not even close.

This place is starting to bore me after spending so much time here since 2008. We have a group of about 15 steady posters arguing semantics, and I'm starting to see cracks in the foundation. It's starting to look like some so-called conservatives have, perhaps by osmosis, become strikingly similar in appearance to the modern-day left. Mewling, whining voices are overtaking the voices of reason here.

Agreed, TB4E. (And I know I've done my fair share of nitpicking, too, even in this thread.) Again, I'd rather have Trump in the Oval Office than someone like a Mitt Romney or another milquetoast Republican, but especially over another Democrat. And when I do disagree with Trump, I also say it. Usually, I don't disagree with him, but I do every once in a while.

RE: It’s happening! Greenland and Denmark requests meeting with Rubio
Reluctantly, I do strongly disagree, TBB4E (and GC). Three points, mostly in response to your post #35, but generally also:

--> Yes, I absolutely think that people take Donald Trump's statements seriously. Including the stupid stuff. As they should. He has the ability to send in the Delta Force (or Seal Team Six or National Guard or any other arm of our very powerful nation) at his bidding. That you trust him without question must be comforting. Not everyone does.

--> No, I do not need to "pick a side" with Donald Trump. Nor does anyone else. He deserves the respect of his office, but he is bottom line a public servant who works for us. With regard to this present moment, we are on the verge of changing not just the nation but the dynamics of the world. For the better. So long as the big mouth in charge doesn't blow it. There may be a point to threatening Denmark, and if so I am fully in support. But I don't know that, and neither do you. Telling someone to "pick a side" is a form of stfu. I'd expect that out of sk. I know that you are better than that, TB4E.

--> I hope that this isn't so, because I consider you one of the better posters on this site. But if the distress of seeing comments that you disagree with has become too much, then perhaps you should be off of the forum for a time. Airing out and testing disagreeable views (so long as not abusive in nature, like those of tanq.) are precisely what this forum is for.

We may not be strong conservatives, but at least we're not killing people who we disagree with like the left does.

If you want strong and hostile conservatism, that's on you.

Would I like it to? Yes, but I know it won't happen.
