I have 2 boys in their mid to early 20’s… both are good kids… were/are leaders in their fraternities and will hopefully transition into contributing fathers & citizens but as involved as we were as parents, it is scary how much they rely upon social media, and its influence. I cannot say it enough, social media is wreaking havoc on our children and its influence is worse now than ever. The guard rails were taken off deferring to “free speech” and it comes at a cost.

Both of my kids are similar in age to yours. BOTH immediately contacted me when Charlie was shot. My son sent me the video showing his neck getting blown out. I told him Charlie was dead within seconds of the shot. I have talked to both of them multiple times in the past 2 days about it. My kids contact me to verify things they see/read on social media all the time. If you aren't involved more (I'm not saying you aren't) with them and give them facts about things, then yes Social Media will continue to be their source for what they THINK they know. I'm in my mid 50s and I still talk to my mom about things now that my dad died last year. Be more involved and social media will not be their God.
