But if we are the Christians we say we are, we have to forgive this kid. That does not mean he should not still be held fully responsible and even receive the death penalty, he should IMO. Its important I think to set that example at this moment in time.

But as Christians we have to forgive him in our hearts and even pray for him to repent. He is very young and there is a very powerful and deceitful spirit of pure evil out there that works on his generation and leans on them incredibly hard. The young man not only did a very evil thing, he himself fell prey to this evil influence.

I know some posters like Bartlett (not to single you out bro, just using you as an obvious example) are going to react with a "F*** THAT! I'm not forgiving this monster!". I understand how you feel because I feel it to. And though I would hope you would I'm really saying this to those that want to be the type of Christian man and example that Charlie set.

And it starts by forgiving this young man, even though we still want him to be held fully accountable. As Jesus died on the cross He said "Forgive them Father, they know not what they do".

This is one of the hardest parts of being a Christian but we have to try and do this if we are who we say we are.

We know, Eric, and we will. But it's going to take some time. (I know you know that, but it has to be said.)

Forgiveness requires contrition, but I could manage it.

But he does seem like a socially-awkward guy that got caught up in the discord hate culture. I especially feel really bad for his dad.

Actually it doesn't require contrition in this context. Jesus did not require it when He asked the Father to forgive those who were crucifying Him.

Admittedly its one of the hardest things to do as a Christian (loving your enemies, forgiving those who harm you and those you love), but we do have to strive to try to do it and follow the example Jesus set.

But it is incredibly hard and the flesh straight up just wants justice and blood for what this young man did to Charlie and his family. I feel it and want it too.

Im a Christian... since 8 years old....and I think he should be hung from the rooftop where he took the shot.

Leave him there until the birds pick him clean.

Sorry Eric but I don't allow my Christianity to blind my belief that he should be put to death for his crime.

I can’t speak for Bartlett. But to the extent that you have, eric, know that I am in full agreement with him.

Well it blinded something because you completely missed the part where I said he should still be held accountable and still be executed as an example. Nothing I said had anything on earth to do with him not being held accountable or not being executed.

Go back and read the post a little more carefully. 04-cheers

I'm not a Christian, although I do try to live my life by Christian ideals, and I can say without question that I'm not BTF, but I'm not forgiving this azzhole. What he did is unconscionable.

He took away a shining light, a father and husband, who was doing nothing more than attempting to have a reasonable debate with people who disagreed politically with him. If we stop talking, there is nothing left but war and evil.

There is evil in this world. Robinson is just one example. I don't feel a need to forgive him. Justice is the answer. Justice in this case would be the death penalty.

He didn't do anything to me, other than kill someone I liked to listen to debate Libs. Forgiveness to me matters not. Justice and him paying a real price for what he has done does matter. Death isn't to harsh for what he did, and anything less than 50 years is much too light.

Ok, I missed that part

On the forgiveness front. He needs to seek that from his maker.

Don't say a prayer for him at all. He doesn't deserve it.

I've never claimed to be a Christian, but if I was I'd still want to see this SOB fry. Like someone else said, he can seek his forgiveness from God.

See that’s quick. So is a firing squad.

Put him in gen pop for 3 weeks. Then in the middle of the night take him out to an undisclosed location. Tie him to a stump with a sniper watching. Make cuts on his arms and legs. Let nature do the rest. The sniper is for if he gets lose. Tranq him and rebind him.

I said the other day to just put a couple of scratches on him and throw him in the middle of the bayou in Bay St Louis. The Fibro will make him explode within 24 hours.

If Im not mistaken, Utah still allows the use of firing squads as an option for a death penalty sentence.

I don't claim to be a good Christian. "Good Christians" tend to have horrific things happen to them. I'm more of an Old Testament guy. He should suffer before "eternity" begins just in case.

I don't think hardly any of you actually read my post. It says right there in plain English that I want him executed and that I think its really important that that happens. Yet almost every one of you seemed to miss it and think I was suggesting he should not be executed.
