I'm not getting anything at this point but that. If you want to track another source look at his connections to known activists who could have put the idea into his head, but I don't think it is anything other than hate for a guy who dared to be truthful and call transexuals abnormal.

Brother, he was out there working the case and directing FBI agents. I saw a long interview with him where he explained all the things he changed from the norm to speed up the process.

He was all up in the middle of it until they caught the guy. So was Bongino.

He's back to being the Director now, but he did more than that in Utah.

Of course not, but he was there directing all the agents on what to do, and he changed a number of procedures to speed up things, and was also looking at all the evidence as it was gathered.

You're right, that's not what the Director usually does. Most of them stay holed up in DC, but that's not what Kash did in Utah.
