I expect it would be specifically medical transgender. It should be. No one requiring that level of medications should be in the service anyway. They wouldn't be in for any other medical condition requiring that level of medications.

This is the kind of thing I wish Trump would hold back on. Too many other important things to be done than to go a step too far on something like this. I would focused on regulations that are in line with keeping the military the most effective fighting force in the world. Transgender? Fine, but you are held to the regulations and physical standards of your biological sex without exception. Do away with the female dress uniforms, further restrict female hair cuts, lengths, makeup, etc until there is as little difference between male and female soldiers as possible.

The most intense mobilization we’ve ever had was 1942-45, and that generation did not hesitate to keep the freaks out of the Armed Forces. They understood that the alternative was detrimental to the mission. It is tragic that so many people in our time cannot grasp that.

But if another WWII-style mobilization ever happens, and the people of that time want to reverse this, let them do so. They will have to face the consequences. For those of us living in the here and now, the EO reported in the media is the right thing to do. Good on Trump if he follows through with it.

I oppose banning trans from joining the military. Merit should be the driver in all personnel hiring, retention, and promotion decisions.

However, the trans person will need to adjust to the prevailing culture (eg, stay in the private areas of one’s biological sex). The military is not an agent of social change. Its purpose is to kill and destroy our enemies.
