If ODU had multiple NCAA and NIT bids while in CUSA, we’d be a lot more tolerant of our far-flung opponents and more likely to embrace fledgling rivalries with nearby or similarly successful programs. If we were losing to the likes of Fordham and GW in the A-10, interest outside of the VCU and Richmond games would fall accordingly.

The A-10 is objectively better than CUSA right now and probably will be unless the former falls off a cliff or the latter finally lives up to its potential. But if you think switching leagues will result in a boost in enthusiasm, well, let’s see how long that lasts if they’re finishing in the middle of the pack and missing the postseason.

I agree but also think that in MBB yes it would definitely result in a boost in enthusiasm. A few million saved in travel expenses being able to be poured back into coaching would probably go a long way towards being more successful as well.
