17,530 of those cases are New York - add in New Jersey (1327) and Connecticut (223) and that's about 19K cases or about 60 pct of the national cases. 135 deaths so that is a much lower percentage, but New York is now ahead of Washington with 114 deaths and I suspect they'll be in triple digits a day very, very shortly. That page lists 708 critical cases - I bet you a majority of those are in the NYC area.

But I really don't see any need to roll back any of the restrictions at least thru the end of March. If anyone on this board can't handle another 8 days of social distancing, they're the most selfish people on the planet. Let's see how the numbers are looking on April 1st before deciding where we go from here. The economy isn't going to be destroyed in 8 days.
