This is a complete misrepresentation of the facts, green. Read the budgets from 2014-2020 and you will see. Go to the CDC website, not 'Fortune' or any other media.

Unless you want to talk about how in 2014, the Obama administration ended a 10 year collaboration with China specifically on dealing with the spread of things like COVID, or that in the same 2018 budget you mention where those cuts were, funds were specifically earmarked for prevention, detection and monitoring capacity, including lab capacity, response and monitoring influenza of particular publis jealth concern, like H7N9 virus infections in China

Your side likes to focus on this because there was a $500mm block health grant that year, meaning LOTS of CDC 'central' budgets were cut a lot and most of them were replaced by other (state) agencies... This creates a large number of places for people to argue that these cuts created problems... ignoring the specific China flu increase in funds and the fact that most of the cuts were replaced.

False. He simply asked that it be returned to the same levels of spending it enjoyed during 7 of Obama's 8 years in office. That budget was rejected.
