RE: Jona's Val for James Wiseman draft slot?

And he has the perfect de-escalating contract that builds salary room for Jaren, then Ja, when it will be needed most. We can't keep 4 or 5 max contract guys at the same time, our depth will be decimated. Best to have 2 supermaxes, and fill in the holes with solid deals.
If we could draft Wiseman in the first year of Ja's next contract, it might be a different story. At that point having very talented players underpaid on rookie deals would be a phenomenal advantage.
And, this is all assuming Wiseman explains convincingly to a FO that his quitting on his teammates in college will have no predictive bearing on his loyalty and fight through tough times in the NBA. Because, for now, I am not so convinced.
This is one reason I'm ok with trading Jonas. He likely will not be here in 3 years anyway, especially not at his high value salary, 17 million bucks.
Maybe Porter pans out. There are actually a few tantalizing big men in this draft. Okongwu is possibly top 5 as well but I'm not sure he will be a game changer like Wiseman.
I like Reggie Perry as well.
I think James just needs to be honest with people about why he quit. You could literally see the smile and the joy leave him during the process.
The young man wanted to play, by all means appears a terrific talent and a great teammate.
Is it a risk? Yes based on his minimal sample size but I think we all know he is a absolute stud.
I have seen enough discussion about GSW trading this pick to believe there is some fire behind the smoke. It may not be here but if I'm Memphis I'm definitely offering Jonas and maybe another young player. (Not Clarke)
The Warriors are going to have to use their trade exception soon. Jonas is the perfect value but they may have their sights set higher.
