Now, dropping "Alabama A&M" or "Delaware State" for a Marshall or some such might make sense. But you don't flush your last long-running and organic rivalry game for yet another nobody.

On top of this, it is nice to have an away game that is a quick drive away. Now most fans don't even need to leave the city to see UC play an "away" game. The only reason people want this dropped is because Miami has not been able to become a player in the MAC. If they could even find BGSU levels of success it would probably change some opinions.

Jerry hit the nail on the head here. Why get rid of a long standing, close (in proximity) rivalry for another MAC/Sun Belt/ Conference USA game?
