Hawaii has its Olympic sports already placed in a separate conference. Their extreme Tim zone provides lots of flexibility as they could start games at 11am local time for a 6pm est broadcast or 7pm local time for a 1am est broadcast. Being in the American would elevate their recruiting. Put them in the West and move Memphis to the East.

Honestly, that's better than nearly all of the other options. Hawaii have warts, but I find them to be very palatable ones.

This will never happen. Hawaii has its own TV deal on the side and adds no value to the conference, along with the nightmare of travel.

That TV deal is less than an AAC FB share. Hawaii has a better FB brand than UConn, but we would need a BB add to balance it out.

Bows have that deal in place because the MW deal sucks for them. The American can make a good case to shake them loose.

The MWC has openly talked about dumping San Jose State and Hawaii. Also, we need a 12th member in football for the Conference Championship game. There is no need for a 12th member in basketball. We can do a 20 game conference schedule or continue to play the top teams against each other and the bottom against the bottom.

For those interested in a MWC team, here is a story on Colorado State. No mention of the AAC. Talks about P5 aspirations.

CSU and P5 aspirations.

You do want a state flagship with P5 aspirations in the AAC but you can't UCONN it here.
