So possibilities are:
A. UAB
B. Northern Illinois (Chicago)
C. Charlotte
D. GA State
Others:
E. BYU (viewers)
F. Southern Miss (history)
Up and comers:
G. North Texas
H. Buffalo
Don't think so: FIU or FAU
Who did I leave out?
N. Illinois isn't in Chicago. It's in farmland.
NIU is 65 miles from the middle of town. It's like going to an Auburn game from Birmingham, without the extra 90 miles.
At the risk of getting into the geographical weeds, Auburn is only about 100 miles from Bham, not 155. So, it would be like going to an Auburn game from Birmingham, without the extra 35 miles. Which isn't a big difference. And I don't think anyone would make the claim that Auburn is in a big city. I could see the media market argument though. Chicago is, what, 3rd or 4th in the country?
I was taking the interstate !

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Possibly UConn is using UAT's accounting service ? You know already that UConn is counting the full value of each scholarship as a cost against out if state tuition. In the long run, this is just a way to charge the rest of the students more for attending UConn.

I think their goal is to become a football indy and get in the Big East for all other sports. This means we need to get out **** together quickly.
I hope our leadership is watching this and ready to act.

We're doing what we need to do with football. Basketball will be a factor for the AAC, particularly if they are just replacing UConn. Our competition from C-USA will be Marshall, ODU, and USM. Two of those are better than us right now on the court and in the stands. Last night we played pretty well in front of 2900 people. UAB needs the rest of their basketball fan base to come back quickly. Ehsan might eventually get it done but will it be before our window out of CUSA closes?

I agree but at this point I don't think it's personal towards Ehsan. There just isn't any excitement around the program. It's going to take a lot more than finishing in Pod 1 of CUSA to create any too.
UAB hasn't tanked or embarrassed the university on or off the court. Ehsan seems like a good man and a good representative of the university. But averaging less than 3,000 isn't sustainable. You can't force fans to buy tickets and attend games just like you can't force recruits to sign with UAB. We also can't make the AAC take us, we have to be wanted. Something has to change and changing coaches is one the few immediate options available.
