Hey, at least it isn't the ISPs doing it. Remember that Net Neutrality stuff that the GOP gutted?
---
Here's the issue, Jones has repeatedly issued fake speech presented as news. He's gone after Sandy Hook parents. Heck this week, he accused Barack Obama of having sex with 10 dudes a day. The list goes on and on and on.
Neither Youtube, nor Facebook, nor Apple have any obligation to promote and market view they find offensive or just bat sh(t insane. They are private companies. You guys are free to give him a channel on RT or OAN and let continue to literally 'go nuts'.
The danger the GOP has created is that with a consolidation of the internet provision market, and an end to net neutrality, that a situation could develop when its not fb doing it, but Comcast and Uverse.

Credit to Shapiro (who is no fan of Jones) for stepping up and being heard on this issue.
Quote:First, the caveats: these are all private companies, and their termination of Jones’ accounts isn’t a legal violation of the First Amendment.
But it is a problem. It’s a problem because these policies are extraordinarily vague. These policies aren’t merely designed to crack down on speech openly advocating or threatening violence, or containing obscenity. These policies are deliberately unclear as well as political.
What, for example, constitutes “hate speech”? Much of what Jones and his employees say is absolutely rotten pig excrement, but there’s no definition of hate speech that has a limiting principle. Is it “using dehumanizing language to describe people who are transgender” to state that transgender people suffer from a mental disorder? Or that they are not in fact members of the gender to which they claim membership? What constitutes “hate speech” when discussing the relationship between radical Islam and terrorism? None of this has been made clear.

they're oligopolies subject to regulation ...
CARTEL KINGPINS
Again, take it up with Alex Azar, the man DJT put in charge of the internet if you have any questions.
No net neutrality. No requirement for private businesses to treat all customers equally or to serve all customers.
Did you guys think that all of Trump's and the GOP's gutting of regulations were only going to hurt our side? Alex Jones is free to wire the entire country for internet and invest 10s of billions into social networking platforms so that he can have a voice. No need for regulations. See the free market works. LOL.

Again, you are welcome to raise 20 billion bucks to build a duplicative ISP network and spend an equal amount to build and promote video sharing and social networking platforms. Its a free market right? No one is banning his speech, they're simply refusing to promote it on their platforms.
Seriously though, he'll just move his schtick over to OAN and RT. They just don't have the viewers and members and his speech will be further marginalized. You wont be able to share his garbage on fb or on your youtube channel.
Don't Alex Jones supporters have some sort of video networking platform?

The hoops you have to jump through to cobble together an argument supporting your political opponents being silenced is pathetic.
Under that logic, AT&T and Verizon are free to intercept and block any call you try to make, and you're free to launch your own satellites if you don't like it.

I'm guessing this triggered Facebook: https://www.infowars.com/facebook-asks-u...ngagement/
"Facebook Inc has asked large U.S. banks to share detailed financial information about their customers, as part of an effort to offer new services to users, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The financial information asked from the banks include card transactions and checking account balances, according to the report.
Facebook, which is trying to deepen user engagement, has asked JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo & Co, Citigroup Inc and U.S. Bancorp to discuss potential offerings it could host for bank customers on Facebook Messenger, the newspaper reported...."
