RE: Navy-UT game thread
I'm thinking Flu will be alright. I could see it was not a knee injury, but couldn't tell if it might have been more at the hip or if the ankle went first. Those guys do such a good job of stretching and that had to help with the legs apparently not taking a serious injury.
Looked like Voss has a broken arm - above the wrist. If so, he could possibly be back for MACC if we make it - and a bowl game for sure. He can have it protected pretty well and be able to play even if the healing is not complete. Had the same injury in HS. Couldn't move my fingers - and it didn't look like he could either.

RE: Navy-UT game thread
Did anyone else notice that, MULTIPLE times, our coaches were rotating DL when Navy was not substituting anyone, so they would do the smart thing (something that UT NEVER does!) and quick snap the ball because our DL would not be set. The biggest one came on the 4th & 1 in the 2nd OT. WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY do you rotate DL when Navy is not subbing anyone? STUPID! DL are not fast, so they can't just run in and out real quick. Could have cost us big time today.

Talked to Flu, he said he was ok, day to day and he gets an MRI tomorrow. He said it was his back. Spirits were high, and he was going home to relax and catch up on Breaking Bad. His sister is ordering his pizza as we speak. Thanks everyone for the concern.

Thrilled to hear he's feeling OK.
Anyone know what happened to Hunt? Looked like he was telling a trainer he hurt his heel. He and David made a scary backfield today.

Navy ran the ball 93 times today. 93!!! Time of possession, not counting the OTs, was 37 min for Navy, 23 for UT (for some reason, the official stats are giving UT an extra 15:00 for the OTs).

I can't believe the gang isn't going ape crazy over the flagrant and unpenalized, horse collar, choke, leg sweep on Flu?!? Especially after the ridiculous "targeting" penalty on us on the first play of the game. They wanted to eject our player for a run of the mill, everyday hit on the sideline and Flu gets bent into a pretzel and nothing. The navy player continued to crank down on Flu's back after they were on the ground. We lucked out today, but the other horrible call was the 4th quarter pass interference call near the goal line. Nobody tossed a flag then, the back judge who didn't have a good view of it tosses a hanky way late.

That looked like a good call to me. Looked like UT's DB hit him early. Now, on TO's pick before halftime, looked like a WR was being held, causing him to not be able to jump for the ball.

I think the guy out of position to make the call made the call and it was late.

They missed a huge hold by Navy on the same play.

Not to mention the face mask on the tackle of Flu

I have video of the PI at the end on us. Great call. All over his hips and arms. I'd post if I owned the footage. 12 men on field was actually 10 tho, and the flu play was bad.

Good news pending MRI. Tell David to enjoy Walter White and company including the city of Albuquerque. It's the best thing NM has going during football season now that the Balloon Fiesta is over. :-)

I can't believe that kid wasn't booted...cheap play all the way around....and no penalty? Unreal. I hope Flu is ok...love watching him play the game. It would be a shame to lose him to such a bush league play.
In regard to Voss, it looked like he broke his arm above the elbow. If so, he's most likely done for this year. We're going to miss him. Emilien hasn't played much and it showed once he came in for Voss. Who else did we lose...saw Madison on the sideline in street clothes and Sylvestre was missing at the end as well?

RE: Navy-UT game thread
Officials were very poor. In addition to what others have said, they missed several blatant holds, including the one where Russell got hurt.
The one that ticked me off was the play in OT where the Navy running back spiked the ball after the end of the play. That is supposed to be an automatic 15 yards. Refs were right there. Would likely have ended the game. Poor all around.
Glad to hear Flu is ok. Really gonna miss Voss though. Although, there was a rumor that Coleman was going to play today, although I didn't see him in - maybe I missed it. Would be a great help if he is ready to go next week.

Not sure about Sylvestre but Madison got booted on the first play for making a clean hit on an inbounds receiver.

Madison's ejection was overturned after review. But the 15 yd penalty stayed.

Why do the Refs always call homers EXCEPT at the Glass Bowl and Savage??? It really seems like from an officiating standpoint... we are ALWAYS on the road!
