Why not? "Terrorist" is.
Jihad, like the confederate flag, is something overtaken by evil goups as symbols of their cause but which, on its own, stands for completely different things.
It is, indeed appalling to see War in the name of Religion so besmirched.
Like the Confederate Flag, I am all for people to put Jihad on their personal vehicles, places of residence and historic public places of Jihad like Ground Zero and equivalently Richmond, VA.
It's all relative, right?
Not sure what you getting at, then again, I haven't had my coffee yet this morning. Just saying that "jihad" is, in its essence, an individual's internal struggle with coming to grips with God, and not some external struggle to blow up stuff. I used the flag to illustrate that a symbol/word can have different meanings to different groups. In this case, the flag has taken over the flag and used it as a symbol of bigotry, similarly, extremists have taken the word "jihad" and use it as any fight against the non muslim govts.

There are several jihads, both internal and external.

No, there is only one in the religious sense, and that is internal. The external version is pure politically driven.

I'm saying if Jihadists had any good intentions you would see it on people's personal property, but they hide themselves amongst the "peaceful Muslims".
I mentioned the battle flag bc somebody else already did.

That's certainly one narrative. Then, there's the other narrative where you find posters all over the Gaza strip glorifying people that blow themselves up to hurt civilians in the name of Jihad, as well as rhetoric coming at all angles in the Middle East glorifying the tackling dummies that blow themselves up in the name of Jihad. And, there's those that say "anyone who does something bad is not a true Muslim", whilst sending monies to those that organize the tackling dummies and provide them with ball bearings for their daily outerwear.
I'm not an expert on Islam. But, when that many people are involved in blowing themselves up in the name of Islam and Jihad (financing it, organizing it, cheering it on), I'm gracious enough to take them at their word that they are doing it in the name of Jihad. Then again, I'm willing to admit that struggling with their conscience may also be part of it too.

Are you saying that the rednecks that have the "battle flag" all over the place have GOOD intentions. Wow.

I think most have it today because that's what their subculture is "supposed" to have. When its design becomes a bikini, the deeper meaning is lost.
The people who wear it, fly it, put it on their shot glasses, put it on their muddin truck aren't doing it to remind dictators of anything. They're doing it because it's cool amongst their peers.
That's not the way to go about respecting southern culture.

Our concept of Jihad comes from the actions of people that can't even read their own literature, being led astray.

You mean, as in Dr. Ayman al Zawahiri, and the scores of other highly educated Jihadis illiterates?

Says who? You?
It's hard for a Yankee to understand that bikinis, shot glasses, Ball Jars, and muddin' trucks are southern culture... as well as fighting dictators.

I've probably got more southern blood in my veins than most people that live here. By the family bible, my people have been between nc and va since at least the 1700s. I know southern culture and people aren't using that flag in a way that preserves it.

Also ask any of these kids about their heritage and what the flag means and they won't be able to tell you.

They'll tell you that we're tired of a bunch of bleeding heart Yankees running South from the behemoth Governments they created in the Northeast just to vote the same way and expect different results.
When I was a kid, Smith Mountain Lake was surrounded by farms. Today, the farms are gone and replaced by $2 million homes that nobody can afford... especially locals. In the Summer, the Yankees can be seen in their Priuses and rainbow stickers, looking down their noses at us.
However, you can watch the yuppies scurry away in fear when one of the locals roll up with a battle flag hanging out the back of their truck. They tuck those noses down and run for cover. That is respecting the Confederacy.
How this came into a thread about Jihad I'll never know, except that Muslims don't have the balls to put Jihad on their cars.
