So, no direct flights and all will probably involve switching planes to a smaller "shuttle" type service, Delta Connection, US Airways Express, American Eagle, etc.
Delta Connection via Atlanta
US Airways Express via Charlotte
American Eagle via Dallas

Very fan friendly. Exactly what a bowl game should be. Unless of course its run by ESPN and then its all about additional content and a 3 hr window to plug your bigger and better games.

The internets says that Dayton to Montgomery is a 9 hours and 5 minute drive.

The other piece to the travel right now is what day and time this thing gets booked for. Obviously its going to be low on the chain so wouldn't surprise me to see this one as a weekday, afternoon game to fit into ESPNs schedule. This would totally suck since Charleston was lining as a Saturday game too.

Charleston was not happening because of the NCAA bowl ban on the state.

RE: Montgomery bowl a go?
That's why I've been suggesting Savannah forever.
The area from Wilmington, NC down to south Florida is practically half Ohio and New Jersey transplants. The top three cities in the northern portion of that would be Wilmington, NC, Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA.
Wilmington is actually very overcrowded and has terrible everyday traffic for a city of its size, I'm not sure if the infrastructure is well suited to hosting a bowl. Charleston, SC has the flag thing. That leaves Savannah, GA which is why you've seen me suggest it for a while. It's a very cool, charming locale and has many of the upsides that Charleston has without the major red (confederate) flag (pun intended).
It's not rocket science. That Wilmington - Savannah corridor should have been targeted by the MAC already. I swear, I need to run the conference.

Troy Vs Ohio and Ohio would be outnumbered 10-1
No different than the New Orleans Bowl (Troy vs. Ohio 2010).
I would feel better about Montgomery if all the MAC was playing was SBC in bowl games.
Do a complete set.....Little Rock, Charleston, Montgomery, Mobile and New Orleans.....or don't do it at all.

No. It gets cold here too... See mobile at the GMAC bowl against CMU in 2009. They will tell you.

RE: Montgomery bowl a go?
Savannah, GA
- Memorial Stadium (Cap. 15,000) Small but only 6,000 less than the proposed 21,000-seat Johnson Hagood Stadium in Charleston, SC. If Savannah decided to do this they would probably invest in upgrades like Charleston was planning. Officially located in Isle of Hope, Georgia.
- Isle of Hope, Georgia
Setting: Isle of Hope lies along the Intracoastal Waterway, 10 miles southeast of Savannah. Access is limited to two small roads. The average temperatures range from a high of 92 to a low of 72 in July and from 60 to 38 in January.
Attractions: Relatively unspoiled, unchanged, and peaceful, the area offers close proximity to Savannah's great restaurants, shopping, and historical sites. It's 40 miles south of the excellent golf courses around Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Where You'd Spend Free Time: The marina is the hub of activity for both residents and those traveling along the Intracoastal Waterway. Boating, fishing, and crabbing are popular. The pleasant weather invites walking and biking down the live oak-shaded streets.

RE: Montgomery bowl a go?
Does it really matter as long as they get the last pick?
If this helps us not have 1-2 bowl eligible teams stay at home then it is a good thing.
The 15 extra practices and game experience for the guys returning the next year is what helps make our conference better.

That's an argument for more bowls.
Nobody is saying "NO" to more bowls, we're saying "NO" to sh*t bowls.

Call the NCAAP in Montgomery to prevent this game ASAP!
Time to pull out all the stops. Occupy MAC Headquarters.
