With his listed 40 time he's not fast, so hopefully with his size he can go up and get the ball - there weren't many opportunities for that in the highlight film. And of course he's playing against high-schoolers vs. college players. Unless they're really fast or elusive or show difficult catches being made, I find it hard to be impressed by highlight films. Especially when the films don't show how many passes were dropped.

Not sure I'd call a 4.5 at his size in high school not fast...

We have 3 RS JR TE on the team this year. So come 2015 we will only have 2 TEs...we need 2 in this class.

...correction we had 3 in this incoming class...so never mind.

I would guess one would be a FB or switch to D.

TE in high school can translate into many different positions in college. Same with other positions.

Per his rivals page, Trevor Olson was recruited as a LB and started 4 years at LT. Go figure.

I am kind of expecting one of this year's (2013) TE's to flip over to DE. There's no need for 3 TE's in a class and we're a bit thin in the pipeline at DE.

I bet they try and make Dale Brown an OT. He didnt have one highlight of him catching a ball, all blocks. He has the frame to add a lot of weight. Doug Free was also a TE in HS...

Free and the CMU freaks were taller and leaner in HS, he is built more like a DT prospect if he is not a TE.

RE: 2014 Official Verbal Thread
From Edgy Tim: (Finally this guy gave us some props)

Speaking of NIU: The Huskies received a pair of oral commitments recently when Bishop McNamara senior outside linebacker Robbie Odeneal Jr. pledged over the weekend and Proviso West senior tight end Denzel Tolliver committed Monday afternoon.

"The NIU coaches saw me at the Illinois camp a few weeks ago at Lincoln-Way East and they offered me," Odeneal Jr. said. "I gave it some serious thought and I decided I was ready to play for NIU.

"NIU is a winner, and getting to stay close to home, playing for a winning program and also getting a strong education at NIU made it a pretty easy decision for me."

Sounds like these kids are excited to come play for us. Don't know much about them so I hope they are quality players.

Here's a nice article on Dale Brown's commitment. Apparently he has family in the Chicago area and that was a factor in his decision.

Nieman also has offers from EMU and Illinois state. Went to grade school with recent Iowa commit Keegan Render. It boils down to us or Iowa. Have to see how strong his desire to play for his dad is.

Mike Mallory went to Michigan when his dad coached here and his brothers went there when his dad was at IU. There is precedence to go elsewhere.

Nieman was offered by Iowa last year at their Jr. day camp. He is a confirmed verbal to NIU according to rivals and another recruiting site{24 7 sports}

I would bet he will take the Iowa offer. Playing for his dad at NIU probably is not a good reason, because the chances of his dad staying 4 yrs at NIU is not realistic.

But if Ben is playing at NIU his dad is more likely to stick around for 4 more years.
