No, it won't. Does anyone seriously agree with this statement?

Well...... are they? Interesting that you find a true statement stupid. In what world does a RS Senior who lost his starting job to a true freshman get his jersey retired? You know what.... I'll just link the discussion that you were referring to
HERE for those interested. You had a very difficult time defending your stance.

I think we should draft him because we feel sorry for him. They picked him because he's a great athlete, leader and team player.
STRAW MAN FALLACY LINK
Who has ever said that Demarco is someone to be pitied? Where are you pulling this garbage from? A belief that one doesn't deserve to have their college jersey retired is a far different opinion than a belief that someone is a sad case. Please, if you are going to force your views, do it with argumentative integrity.
In this years BCS National Championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame, there were a combined ZERO retired jerseys from both programs. Alabama has had a team since 1892. Notre Dame has had a team since 1887.
The USC Trojans football team has 6 retired jerseys. All of them are Heisman Trophy winners. They've had a team since 1888.
The Marshall Thundering Herd football team has one retired jersey. That player is also in the Professional Football Hall of Fame (Frank Gatski). Marshall has had a team since 1895.
The USM Golden Eagles football program has three retired jerseys. Brett Favre is one of them. They have had a team since 1912.
ECU has 4 retired football jerseys. Two of them were given to players who died while on the team. Their last non-posthumous jersey retirement was for a player who ended his ECU career in 1959. ECU has had a team since 1932.
Get the picture?
You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what retired jerseys are awarded for. They are awarded for ELITE ON FIELD PERFORMANCE. To say that Demarco does not fit this criteria is not a diminishment of his career at ODU. If you believe it is, then as a result of that logic, you have diminished the careers of every player that you didn't nominate as a retired jersey candidate. Understand?

2) He just threw a 14 yard Touchdown pass in a preseason game.
Sure.
1)A minor error but not really the point.
2)And thanks for minimizing his performance to just throwing a 14 yard pass in an exhibition game.. No big deal eh. Yeah, Demarco. The nerve of him trying to be the best he can be. Great job.
There you go again throwing words in people mouths. Will you knock it off? All devyanks90 did was make a factual statement.
It's a shame that you decided to write a bait post such as this knowing full well that it would elicit a response such as this from me. This thread was intended to be 100% pro-Demarco. However, as long as you continue posting on this topic, I'll continue correcting on this topic.
