Amen. I'm really hoping ECU gets an invite to the B12 as a travel partner for WVU. Only then will I feel like we've moved up.

Dream on. Until then, enjoy being in the Falling Star Conference with a logo designed in the same program as this license plate:

It's not a bad logo, though it does resemble several others.

What is worse about the license plate above is that people voted it in over several more sensible choices (see below). I hope that nothing similar occurred with the AAC logo.

I like the logo overall.
My one criticism is that the star is pointing in the wrong direction. It looks like its falling. If you flipped it 180 degrees it would appear to rise. Just my 2 cents

All those teams that left CUSA thought they were chasing a big payday and a BCS bid. None of those came close to being true. Like when Aresco went to the nextworks thinking he the AAC was worth 50 million more than the Pac-12 deal. Sure you all got a some extra money but not all that was promised or you bragged about. Now some of your all have this holier than thou attitude like somehow you have moved up in the world. I could care less about the conference or to ever join it. And evidently you don't have to be successful to get an invite because Tulane is going too.
It was especially funny when all the schools leaving said they had to get out of CUSA because it was in trouble of folding. That couldn't be further from the truth. The conference they ran too was the only one folding and had all those schools just stayed put here in CUSA the leftover Big East schools would have been scrambling to find a home and more likley than not would have had to come back to CUSA which in turn would have been worth a lot more money to the networks.
And if it was such a great deal to be a part of your new conference then the C7 wouldn't have been looking to get at a soon as they could. All the AAC is CUSA. Aside from Temple ( a once exiled BE school) and UCONN (previous 1-AA football) every team was at one point in time a member of CUSA. You all ran for a pay day and a "better" conference and got the same conference for a few hundred grand.
I understand where you're coming from... but can you honestly sit there with a straight face and say that playing UTSA, UNT, UNCC, ODU, FIU, FAU is better than playing UCF, UCONN, Cincy, USF, Tulsa, Houston... well... I can't help you.
Valid point. Problem is outside of CUSA or AAC no one looks at any of these teams any different. That is my point. We can debate who is better on the schedule all day long but the point is whether you are CUSA or AAC you really do not matter in the whole scheme of things. That is my point.
I just got tired of hearing the arguments of how degraded our schedule is now and how a 1 or 2 loss AAC team is better than an undefeated CUSA team now. And before someone says it, yes this argument was made by one of the departing fans. Look at the WAC and the success that Boise enjoyed while playing there.
Fact is I agree with you on Tulsa and UC. Maybe even UCF depending on their future hire after O'Leary. However UCONN, USF, Houston(post Sumlin/Keenum), Tulane, SMU, and Temple don't move the meter much.
The team that wins the argument of SOS over AAC or CUSA competition is the same as winning the argument of who is the tallest midget.

Oh look... another thread about the AAC where a couple Marshall fans show their ass.
Oh look... another thread where some ECU fan talks about Marshall. Nobody is showing their ass. Its well documented what a cluster F the 'Murica 12 SUMBITCH Conference has been.
Well if we are just going to keep rehashing the same old crap...
Enjoy the Sunbelt chumps. Maybe you can finally be competitive.
Truly this tread does not need to be on Cusa board. There is nothing good that will be said as it only bring out certain "BUTTHURT"(s) who has nothing to say positive except those who agree with him and uses profanity every other word to show its lack of home training and schooling. Hopefully they did not graduate from school they claim to represent.........my guess.....they did not.

And here lies your problem with the new rules in place. Not a single program in your new cobbled up conference will be able to separate themselves from other programs. Your champ each year will most likely have at least 3-4 losses because you will beat the @#$ out of each other. Which means no one from your conference will even be considered for the BCS bowl. Congratz on screwing yourself each year, year in and year out.
As far as the logo it was put together by someone lazy. I could have done a better job in "Paint", I hope you all didn't pay someone 50-100K to do it.
And you can't tell me that UConn, Cincy and USF are happy to be there. Those programs and their fans are angry and will leave on the 1st chance they get.

It's a shame that league didn't stay true to its original vision (spring/summer games with mostly sub-NFL talent). That model could've succeeded and remained viable for a long, long time.

American
AAC
or
Seriously who can really talk **** about anything that says American. Just about every non commy has some good anchors around the word.
It is not a bad logo. It just doesn't seem very original. At first glance, it looks like it should be the AFC logo for the NFL. The star reminds me of the Houston Texans logo.
What is the purpose of the star anyway?

RE: AAC releases its' primary logo.
What's the purpose of the (half) star in the CUSA logo. It's essentially the same concept for this new conference. I like the name American or AAC much better than CUSA though and in 3 years the branding will be just as common place to college fans as CUSA is now if not more with teams like UConn and Memphis likely doing damage in the NCAA tourny and going deep and having a national profile.
I like the fresh start myself and something separate of the Big East. Would have been to much negativity around the Big East had we kept that name anyway. The American is a lot more simple, cleaner, more positive, and a whole lot less less funky than when CUSA came about. If you are comparing the two which BTW are very comparable with the vast regions they represent American is much better name IMO or even the AAC if they ever switch to that branding. Even the simple A logo will eventually get known and simple is great. CUSA was tolorable but any conference with the name Conference first is pretty lame.
Seriously
American Athletic Conference
or
Conference United States America

It isn't that bad, but I think they should have gone with AAC instead of American
