Have you not read about the nutjobs that think Obama is coming vor their guns have gone out and cleaned of the shelves of gun stores. The police need MORE firepower to keep ahead of the crazies.

I'm not sure why someone exercising their constitutional rights is a "crazy". but I am positive that, in the current unhappy state of affairs, disarming the public is suicidal.

the difference is Israel is surrounded by people that hate them. OTOH, we willingly allow the radicals to come here, or allow them to slip through our borders, and then do nothing once they're here. Israel would never behave so irresponsibly. By the time we learn it will be too late.

Buying a gun is not crazy.
Buying a gun because you think Obama is going to take your guns is crazy.

Well, when the crazies have no limits on their weapons, the police need to upgrade to counteract it.

Yes, I heard there was a run on Sears for Oster Pressure cookers in advance of the upcoming registration requirement for countertop appliances and ban on pressure cookers. There is also a run at Home Depot on short pieces of threaded stainless pipe to make grenades with...

Buying a gun because you think Obama is going to take your guns is crazy.

you're putting word in people's mouths. buying a particualr gun while it is still legal is fundamentally different from buying a gun because you think the government is going to confiscate them. the former is doing no more than taking the president at his word. he said flat out he intended to prohibit particular kinds of firearms.

but I'm also not sure it's any of our business why someone exercises a constitutionally protected right. that's why its constitutionally protected.

Most troublesome thing to me is that there is some talk of trying the terror suspect in a military tribunal as an enemy combatant despite him being an american citizen captured on US soil.

we need to get it out of our heads that somehow a recent citizenship ceremony makes this evil little bastard something other than a terrorist -- if it makes you any happier, we can strip him of his fraudulent citizenship before we ship his ass off to gitmo and waterboard the snit out of him.

We are not China. It doesn't work that way. And how do you know he was without question planning this back then? There's a lot of crap getting thrown around here "for sure" and "without question" that is absolutely without evidence. Just because you watched a season of 24 doesn't mean your intuition is probably right.

When you attack Americans simply because they're Americans then I think you should automatically lose your membership to this country because apparently being an American citizen just meant soooooo much to this loser.

I don't.....yet. But can you think of any reason why he attacked people he didn't know in Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America? Either he's a psycho or a terrorist.

No, lucky for me. And I never plan to blow anyone up or shoot anyone or commit any violent crime. I value my rights whether I need them or not.

Why do we need to understand these ********? They killed innoicecnt civilians going about their daily lives, killed a cop in the line of duty and wounded hundreds more, and you ask if we know his motives?

How about who gives a flying **** about his motives or his "firey internal rage fueled by the oppression of his people" (even though he's an American citizen) or any other crack pot excuse that some NYU or Columbia lawya is going to scheme up.

How do we know his motives... Holy ****, who cares?

*yawn*. Who's talking about George Bush or the Taliban, Afghaniostan or any other int'l situation? I'm talking about these two a-holes. I want to know what they know, who they know, how they went about this ALL the other pertinent information regarding their actions.

But I am NOT at all interested in whatever "grievance" they thought they were trying to address. Plenty of folks not living in the US, attending college at Umass and enjoying all the other niceties afforded them by this Country that don't pick up arms against their fellow countrymen.

Or, actually, fellow countrychildren for that matter. I'll let you worry about what his backstory was...

My point is if they can capture an american citizen on US soil and ship him to Gitmo without due process, we're all at risk. Sure it's a terrorist this time. He hasn't been convicted though. How long before just being alleged to be planning an attack gets someone sent to Gitmo? How long until just opposing the administration gets you sent? Can you see the very slippery slope? The constitution is shredded if they do this.

I don't*. and it doesn't matter. what matters is that his citizenship is more than likely on shaky ground. you don't renounce all allegiance to other authority and swear to support and defend the constitution one day, and blow a little boy into pieces simply because he was american the next -- not without being fraudulent.

get past the "citizenship" problem. it isn't real.
