Side note on Kiel, He and Matt Krempel are both from Columbus, IN. Krempel lives with Lynch, you think these guys will help reel him in if he comes to a visit here.

whereever he goes i doubt he will be guaranteed by a coah that he will be the starter. I he did get that guarantee, then the team is probably crappy. Lynch could teach this kid a lot, just like Harnish taught Lynch

Krempel is a few years older than Kiel and attended a different high school...not sure how he would have any impact on Kiel's decision. Ball State is only 100 miles from Kiel's hometown. It makes sense.

Pete Lembo asked Kiel, "Are you sure you don't want to play for a BCS school? Hell, I don't ever want to be here."

I didn't say Krempel and Kiel were homies, just a commonality they have. It could be nice to know someone from the same town on a visit.

The question being is does Ball State have an IPF comparable to the Chessick Practice Center which will be fully operational by the time he gets here? That could be a major plus in his recruitment.

Not to mention his opportunity to play for a BCS Bowl team, with a coach who should be here a few years. My guess is Lembo will be out the door in a year or two.

When a school is close to home, sometimes those other concerns are secondary.

Yeah it's interesting. Didn't mean to come off like I thought it was completely irrelevant...I just think Kiel will have a ton of other things impacting his decision.

Ya I agree, but it's things like that they use to pair people up on visits. I know Ball St is closer to home and whatnot, I just think if you got MAC options, NIU has to be the top of that short list compared to Miami and Ball.

Hopefully our staff knows by the end of spring ball what they have in McIntosh and the two RS freshmen where they can make an educated decision.

Haven't seen the freshmen, but the few times I've seen a practice McIntosh looked pretty good.

If he goes to another MAC school over NIU, I will be extremely disappointed.

I was only half joking when I said this but I think there is some merit. If you really want him at NIU would it almost be better NIU was not his next choice. You figure he has 1 or 2 more transfers left, even if he went to BSU, NIU could be the end destination.

RE: Kiel to visit Ball St
Interesting quotes on Kiel from LINDY"S SPORTS:

"Kiel has proven that he has trouble sticking by his decisions. In high school, Kiel, who was also recruited early by Alabama, verbally committed in July 2011 to play for the Indiana which is close to his home in Columbus, Ind. Then Kiel changed his mind and committed to LSU. He later changed his mind again just prior to signing day in 2012 and decommitted from the Tigers. On National Signing Day, LSU coach Les Miles publicly criticized Kiel for not having the “chest” to stick by his commitment. Kiel did sign with Notre Dame before being redshirted this past season.

Kiel is set to soon commit to his fourth school in less than two years. Unless he transfers to a lower division school, Kiel will have to sit out next season regardless, meaning he will go two full seasons without playing since he redshirted this past fall at Notre Dame. Even though he will have three seasons to play once he finally gets settled, it is unknown what effect the long layoff will have on Kiel’s ability to perform on the field. Does a coach really want to take a chance on a quarterback who has not seen the field since he was a high school senior?"

None of those are interesting, in fact the last quote was just dumb.

Most QBs generally don't play their first two years on campus.
