Those are some pretty inflammatory statements from Huds. Total disrespect.
Again, GaSo has not earned any respect on the FBS level. We were forced to add FCS programs to stay afloat as a league, not because we wanted to add any FCS programs.
Had the 5 programs that bolted for CUSA stayed in the Sun Belt CUSA would be the worst league in the country. They didn't and we are rebuilding again. I believe that App State, Texas State, South Al and if we were to add JMU all four programs will be more successful than GaSo, the triple option will not cut it in the FBS with Sun Belt athletes. The best you can hope for is the same level of success as the Service Academies and I am not sure you could match that.
Keep thinking that. We love being under estimated.
And regarding the service academies, you of course are talking about navy, who h is the only academy analogous with Ga southern. Incidently, last year's navy squad beat ecu by a way wider margin than the cajuns did in the bowl game. I would also hate to break it to you, but navy has a winning record and is in a bowl every single year, unlike the geax cajuns. We put our superior athletes in the same system that navy has had success with, and I see us competing right away. Can't wait to play LSU light, or whatever your school is called.
You will get your shot against a 2014 squad more than likely that will be a BCS buster in the Sun Belt. We lose only three starters off of this upcoming 2013 years team. Those guys have learned to win and will beat the piss out of every new Sun Belt program in 2014.
If Ok St can put 62 on that defense, 30 shouldn't be a problem for us. Plus, we don't lose often at home.

Didn't cut it in the ACC Championship Game either did it.

We ran up 302 yards on Alabama in 2011 and over 300 on the Dawgs last year. I'm sure their athletes are at minimum SBC quality, and I'll even go as far as to say that with what we have now in a match up with you guys (ULL) I like our chances

You want to talk smack be my guest...you have no clue as to what we have...truth be told, I hope that you do come out of the gates playing well...If we are going to be in this Conference long enough to play you guys then I prefer that you be competitive
RE: Will Hudspeth be issuing an apology to Ga Southern and App State?
Unlike what you got form that other Georgia school, when you brought us in, we bring it on game day. There's nothing like earning respect and Georgia Southern has it's work cut out for it. There is no reason to believe that whatever offense we put on the field, we will win. We're up to that challenge, ain't no two ways about it. GATA Eagles !

well, I guess it's on then. Look, we respect what your program has done, but to qct like you're light years ahead if us is wishful thinking. Like it or not, you're going to have trouble stopping the option. We back down from nobody and we know better than anybody in this league that in order to be the best you have to beat the best.
If Louisiana light is the best of the sun belt, then make no mistake about it. The true blue in statesboro are drawing a huge target on your back.
Neither us nor app state are your run of the mill FCS moves ups. We will be competitive right away, and if your team chooses to think we are another Ga state, theyre going to be in for a rude awakening when you get smacked in the mouth for the first time by the blue and the white. GATA

Well, I guess all seven of those points ULL has against UGA in 2010 is something to treasure since that's all they've got .
Since I want to be fair about this, no we haven't beaten an FBS opponent in the modern era. I just thought I'd look it up, and it seems that ULL is 1-59 against the SEC. We are 1-9 all time similarly, so with regard to that stat, y'all have an insurmountable lead.
RE: Will Hudspeth be issuing an apology to Ga Southern and App State?
Ughhhhhh hey rock stars did you forget about this? I leave this so the stAte and UL fans your being disrespectful to can see how your Triple Option worked back then.
RE: Will Hudspeth be issuing an apology to Ga Southern and App State?
I'm trying to keep it cool and respectful, but let's be frank, Ernest. The sun belt is way better than the smallCon, and I am ecstatic about being invited finally. That said, this conference has no idea what is coming for it in 2014. These guys who think Ga southern will struggle, don't know Jeff monken or the history of this program.
I, and the entirety of eagle nation, fully expect us to compete for championships right away. That's just how we roll.

The option isn't that hard to defend. Ask NDSU, they've shut it down pretty good the last 2 years. When Marshall was in the SoCon with GA Southern they shut it down. In four meetings the option only scored 33 points on the Herd:
93 03
94 10
95 07
96 13
As long as everyone plays their positions and don't over load one lane the option is ineffective. Sure you might get beat on one or two 15 yard throws during the game but I could handle that.
RE: Will Hudspeth be issuing an apology to Ga Southern and App State?
Can we just ban all georgia southern people from this board? It's impossible to read anything here anymore without having to skim over pages and pages of their arrogant delusional BS.

The only reason GSU won't struggle is because the SBC was essentially forced to add several FCS move-ups and 2 of the worst FBS programs in America with GSU. It's essentially going to be the equivelent or very close to FCS ball for several years with the exception of playing ULL, ULM, Ark St and Troy.
