Underway.

Why is the USM streaming video offering so many orders of magnitude better than OwlVision?

USM has exhibited awful plate discipline all year and have struck out a ton, but we're once again giving up hits on 0-2 and 1-2 counts. What the heck are we throwing fastballs in the zone when ahead in the count to free swingers???

Solid first inning for Jordan (single, two strikeoutsKK, line out), but he threw 25+ pitches as USM batters kept fouling pitches off.

I talked to an ex-major league pitcher and college pitching coach this Spring. His theory was a little different. His team's starters were significantly better than his relievers. He wants his starters to go deeper into games. How was he going to do this? His theory was that they weren't going to waste pitches. He did not want them to take two or three chances at a perfect pitch, he wanted them to go right at the batter. Perhaps Rice has adopted some of the same theory? Perhaps this is a Graham/Hallmark idea, rather than the previous Graham/Taylor and Graham/Pierce ideas?

On weather.com, the band of showers looks to be pretty narrow. But it is just appearing and growing in size. Maybe it will move north; maybe it will grow to a regional drenching.

No idea. As Mike said, the storm doesn't look to be big on radar, but who knows how it will develop. We know they were expecting rain later today and moved this one up to try to get it in before the wet.

According to weather.com, the next few hours look good for Hattiesburg. Northern Florida and southern Alabama and Georgia are going to get hammered.

It looks odd to see a pitcher batting second in the order but it's College.
