RE: Tyndall got hosed
I won't define a 'real' Memphis fan because everyone is entittled to a difference of opinion. I think the reactions are more amusing than anything else.

The real business is winning games. If a person was rooting against us on the court, then I would say that person isn't a real fan. But this Tyndall/Pastner stuff? Small potatoes.

I suspect this thread is just some Memphis fan trying to piss off other Memphis fans.

Doesn't sound like a Memphis fan to me, but whatever.

Ask me any question regarding Memphis basketball and see if I am a fan.

I apologize for calling you lil feller but calling somebody's opinion "crap" is not what I would have expected from a lady.

NP and I am sorry for that. But a real Memphis fan would be very excited right now. I just don't understand how you are not. I think Tyndall is a very good coach from what I have seen and I would not have been upset if he'd won. But Josh is a Tiger and the obvious thing for any Tiger fan is to want our coach/team to get the best.

I'm excited. Josh has matured as a coach. Joes has matured as a player. I expected them to go 16-0 in conference and win the tournment.

But to see what Tyndall was able to do with what he had is remarkable. I thought he deserved the award based on how far he was able to take his team.

I agree 100% with the bolded part. Can't help but to want JP to get the best.

That's a Reddit band uniform.

You know, when you graduate from a school, they actually don't make you turn in your brain and take an oath of blind loyalty. Exercise of reason is still allowed. Maybe not at Memphis...?

Anyhow, USM will continue to get treated like everyone else's long-forgotten moped until we demand better. I'm not seeing it yet, so Pastner wins.

No doubt. Both had good years. Memphis has gone 16-0 4 times in conference. Three times that coach has won coach of year. Tyndall had a very good year and if he beat Memphis once he probably would have gotten it.

I think that's right --- or even if the two loses were down to the wire loses rather than by 10 plus points.

Exactly. A great case could be made of both, and I was OK either way.

Congrats to Donnie Tyndall on a great year and exceeding expectations. It had to be a close vote and the Golden Eagles are having a year to remember for a long time. I wouldn't have been disappointed or disagreed if Donnie had been named.

Even with a mental bias, I thought that Joe was a no brainer. Well deserved in my opinion, now go get a 3rd tournament MVP award.

I mentioned this before...had Tyndall for COY in the 'I root for' for about 3 weeks now.

DT didn't lose it and JP earned it. It worked for me either way. Kudos to you guys and JP.

It's funny how you reference USM hoops and have always been respectful. I was bashing our fan base last year about attendance because homers were saying we weren't a basketball town. Oh, how things have a tendency to change.

DD will give JJ a run for tourney MVP if all things go as planned.[/size]

I'm going to say it now....we are going to kick y'alls fannies in round 3....lol
