He deserved COY in my opinion.
Should've chosen the lotion.

Good thing your opinion isn't worth crap!
You could make a valid argument for him but that doesn't mean he "got hosed".

Exactly
Pastner should go 16-0 every year with his roster. Tyndall and USM were expected to be near the bottom of CUSA and finished 2nd. JMO

No doubt. Both had good years. Memphis has gone 16-0 4 times in conference. Three times that coach has won coach of year. Tyndall had a very good year and if he beat Memphis once he probably would have gotten it.
I never could really come to a final conclusion because I knew that I had a mental bias in a close race.

Congrats to Donnie Tyndall on a great year and exceeding expectations. It had to be a close vote and the Golden Eagles are having a year to remember for a long time. I wouldn't have been disappointed or disagreed if Donnie had been named.

Even with a mental bias, I thought that Joe was a no brainer. Well deserved in my opinion, now go get a 3rd tournament MVP award.
I said either had validation for CoY and I have no problem with the decision. I was thinking Tyndall but I am not disappointed in the selection.

No, someone just needs to man up and beat Memphis.

And he did a hell of a job, you guys are lucky to have him. With Memphis out of the way next year he'll get it.
PS. USM is one of the teams I am going to miss the most....kind of sad. You guys always play us tough. 03-weeping
Whatever. You can make a case for Tyndall, but he hardly got hosed.

All he needed to do is win more games.

What more was Pastner supposed to do? His team's record was perfect in conference play.

I agree with you. It is Pastner who coached them and he won even though he was expected to do so, it isn't always easy to be successful when you take over a highly successful program, Just ask Ellis Johnson.

What a hateful thing to say lil feller.
Either choice would have been fine, but nobody got hosed.
FWIW, Gonzaga was undefeated in WCC play and Norfolk State was undefeated in MEAC play. Both coaches were COY in their respective conferences. I don't know much about the MEAC conference, but Gonzaga has a similar or possibly even stronger history in the WCC as Memphis does in CUSA.

That's not going to make any one feel better or worse, but what happened here is consistent with other conferences this year.

Here's what's now important......whether it be pay or other amenities, make Donnie Tyndall happy enough to stay where he is. I know that everyone has said that he's engaged/imbedded in the community, so that's good.

Going undefeted in conference play should always get coy. Tyndall is wonderful & hopefully will build on this years success.
