This is the way I look at it. Major has come in and since day one has run a clean program. It seems he is taking discipline and academic issues very seriously, even if the punishment handed down affects the team's chances of winning. I would much rather have a coach and AD that enforce strict team rules than a coach and AD that due the bare minimum that the NCAA requires, or even try to cover up infractions.

The first suspension came as a result of criminal charges that were later dropped. As most ECU fans claim, if the charges are dropped no discipline is required. Our school felt different and suspended him anyway.

No one is defending Mayfield, he is an idiot for getting caught twice now. However, don't try to act like ECU is better when they only suspended a kid one game for blindside tackling a dude and sucker punching him twice while he was on the ground.

No, my point is we all live in glass houses..There were several UNC-Charlotte fans that were very happy to chime in about our incident last week now they are trying to act like their situation should be off limits. It is easy to call out a school that has problems with 18-21 year old kids that are going to make mistakes. I honestly do not give a damn about UNC-Charlotte or how they run their athletic programs. I just find it funny how fans of other schools are so quick to throw stones at another school when one of their players have issues but gets so defensive when it happens at their own school. Every University runs into these types of issues and no one is immune.

I have no problem with how ECU handles their disciplinary issues...It is usually very swift, consistent, and fair. As far as our player who threw two punches at a kid, no doubt it was a BS thing to do but he has not had a history of issues at ECU...He had to sit out the rest of that game and one more, I really do not what else should have been done to him and I doubt it would have been handled much differently at any other school. Now if he were to have other discipline issues on or off the field after this incident I am sure the punishment will be much more harsh.

Also trying to compare the two incidents is just silly but in all honesty I would rather deal with a kid that lost his cool in a game and threw a couple of punches instead of some dope head...But whatever.

...

I removed references to any specific program from the post above because what ECU-DMB Fanatic states is exactly true. Eventually all programs either knowingly or unknowingly recruit problem kids or hire problem coaches. Pointing fingers when troubled programs come to the surface only makes those fans look silly when it happens at their program.

Yet it's perfectly fine to practically hold a public hanging of our player with MULTIPLE fanbases attacking him including many Charlotte fans? Bunch of damn hypocrites.

Nope....no voting either. Screw ecu; they are lame duck C-USA. Once they decided to leave they forfeited all affiliation rights. It's a question of "either UNCC or ecu". UNCC gets my vote sight unseen.

Don't get me wrong - I understand ecu's decision and would fully expect SOUTHERN MISS to make the same one if given the option - and I would fully expect SOUTHERN MISS to get the lame duck treatment if that were to happen.

UNCC. Screw ecu.
