And posters on this board have taken the low road on this topic, so I really don't give a damn. If the NCAA or the league thought it wasn't enough they could have insisted upon more. You have a problem with it email the league office.

ECU should step up and do more. All this does is send a message that this type of behavior is nothing more than being late to a meeting or skipping a class.

No, that doesn't appear to be the case. To not acknowledge the lack of discipline at ones university is more telling.

USM got roasted last year for a "racial" slur and this incident goes basically untested. FK THAT!

There are NCAA rules on the books for how much time you miss for throwing punches. We are following them, the league agrees, and the NCAA agrees. Whatever punishment USM band members got for racial slurs really doesn't matter in this case. Now if you want to show examples of players who threw punches in which no one got hurt and they got slammed for it then you'd have a point. Otherwise you don't.

Whatever... Bowden is a good person, a good player/teammate. The UTEP guy absolutely destroyed his face just seconds earlier. It was a stupid decision...we've all made them. It was an emotional game. He is suspended. It's over.

I don't think Shamar's actions reflect negatively on ECU as he is what he is. How the school reacts is more telling. He's suspended. Time to move on.

Yeah, I know. USM and UNCC fans had better pray that their little angels on their teams (who have never done anything stupid in their entire lives) NEVER get in any sort of trouble, or I personally will start 10 threads on every message board on the internet about it.

I am way late on this one so I must apologize for that. I understand the rules...the university would have more credibility to go beyond that....if you don't get that part, then okay.

Apparently, violence is a more acceptable practice than verbal abuse by a pep band....that is just fkn funny.

What I know about the guy is that I saw him punching a guy lying on the floor, and would have continued if the guy hanging on the rim hadn't gotten in his way.

Maybe he's a swell guy, honor roll student, nice to little kids and dogs, the works. If so, that sure as hell wasn't his finest hour.

IS he a thug? I don't know. What I do know is he sure as hell looke like one during that video.

Considering that in their 11 years in CUSA basketball, ECU has never had a winning record during regular season play in conference, you have to figure they are desperate to win in basketball.
