pass......6'8 270... Can he actually dunk a ball? He is about the most unathletic ball player, that looks beastly, I've seen in a while.

Honestly I am glad Stokes didn't come here now...
Would have loved to have him at the end of last year. But him being here now probably would have cost us Austin. Not saying Austin is better, but he is a better fit with us already having Goodwin
Austin would block all of his shots......Stoke either can't or will not elevate.

Dude is a solid player. We don't have a big guy that averages his numbers. I really would love to have him on our team.
That being said, I thought the exact same things. Like, "we should have beat them but they performed better than we thought they would." Oh really? Well if we start shooting well, you adjust and you win the game.
But you didn't. You lost and now you're making excuses.

Tarik Black >>> Jarnell Stokes
Shaq Goodwin>> Jarnell Stokes, Stokes is the first option on the team. Averages 11 ppg and 7 rbds whereas Shaq is the 3rd option averaging 9/6

I agree. I'd rather have Tarik. But Stokes does average better numbers. Probably because he's the first option on their team.

He should have fouled out long before the end of the game. There was one play where he pushed CC completely out of bounds and got the rebound, no whistle.
Dang I saw the same thing. He also fouled Joe so hard that everyone on the court stopped dead, the ball fell to the court in front of a utk player, and when everyone realized there was no whistle it was a fast break for utk.
Plus Adonis didn't foul him and DJ had a clean block when he got a goaltend and a foul.
Dude is completely out of touch with reality - he got more breaks than anyone on the court
The refs were very bad on both ends. They missed a multitude of walks on utay.

RE: Post game quote from Stokes....
Personally, I don't have any issue with his stmts. I thought we did shoot better and where making what I considered tough shots. In the first half I saw several one handed runners that were contested but went in. With that being said, I really don't know anything about their team and if they played above their heads that game.
* I think Stokes is a good player and would have liked to have him but that is not the way it worked out. To my knowledge (maybe I'm wrong) but I haven't heard him being negative about our team like the Prince kid. [/u]

RE: Post game quote from Stokes....
Memphis shot 56% from the field and 63% from three.
The last time Memphis shot better than 50% from 2 and 60% from three was 30 games ago vs. UCF last year.
Under JP Memphis has accomplished this feat a total of four times (twice vs. UTk).
Scary part is that it only ended up being a five point margin despite the torrid shooting and low turnover number (10).

Well, I didn't expect the Vols to be knocking down 4-5 NBA threes in a row either. If either team player over their heads it was UT.
Stokes could only score and rebound when Shaq was out of the game.....
Shaq picked up a very silly foul just seconds into the game. Coach P was livid...and I couldn't blame him. On Shaq to keep his butt on the floor else your excuse for Stokes will become habitual...

You're nuts. His comments were stupid, but if he plays for us, he is the best big man on the team, without question. He will be drafted in the top ten, and have a long NBA career, assuming no injuries.
He is a man among boys out there, and our guys played out of their minds defense and got him in foul trouble with a flop by Hall (I agree with announcers, good job Hall in watching scouting report), just to hold him to close to a double/double.
You can dislike his choices, but you can't deny his talent. If you do, you don't watch much basketball.

Neither did I, pleasantly surprised. I was really worried with Tarik out.
