It's really sad. They've got a total of 40 pages worth of posts bashing Pastner and Memphis. When your most popular post is discussing what another coach is doing, you're program is in a sad state of affairs.

I would love that.

It definitely couldn't hurt. But he made his choice, probably not the smartest decision. What's done is done, and we have Shaq...great kid with great attitude. I'll take him over Stokes any day of the week. And next year Austin....no-brainer.

Guess you didn't see that volnation post that called Shaq our Calipari-esque ghetto thug. Nevermind that he listens to Fall Out Boy and Kings of Leon (new rock bands for you old folks who don't know them. 03-wink )

Neither of those bands are what I'd call new...

New rock as in new-rock. As in the new style of rock. Could have said indie or alternative...whatever...

VN is one fan board that is fairly widely known to have a Memphis obsession. A lot of it probably has to do with the young average age of the posters there, but even the other UT fan forums have acknowledged it, albeit embarrassingly. It is the funniest board next to catspause, however.

Weak comment by Stokes. UT averages like 60 points as a team, and scored 80. They had two guys double their scoring average for new career highs. Don't hear him complaining about those stats.

What did you expect him to say? "That's the team I should've been playing for. That's the team I wanted to play for. I can't BELIEVE I screwed things up that bad! Can't I get a do-over? Can't I, PLEASE?" Jarnell, from all reports, is a drama queen, but even he knows that would be in bad form.

He also knows he didn't face anything like what he should've been facing last night (Shaq AND Black) and still got embarrassed. Makes you wonder what Josh's real opinion of Stokes is (left Black out knowing this was one of our last two chances to get anything like a quality win before Selection Sunday.) And there's probably no one on earth happier to hear that we won't be playing each other next year. Pardon the grammar, but he don't want NONE of that.

Nobody said they expected him to say those things. The issue is the fact that he attributed the loss to a lucky night. That's an incredibly immature reaction to a loss.

You're nuts. His comments were stupid, but if he plays for us, he is the best big man on the team, without question. He will be drafted in the top ten, and have a long NBA career, assuming no injuries.

He is a man among boys out there, and our guys played out of their minds defense and got him in foul trouble with a flop by Hall (I agree with announcers, good job Hall in watching scouting report), just to hold him to close to a double/double.

You can dislike his choices, but you can't deny his talent. If you do, you don't watch much basketball.

:nono:He plays below the basket and would be eat alive in the nba.

At this point, yeah. Hopefully, he can self-develop to a point where an NBA team will take a chance on him. The sad fact is it doesn't matter how many stars you come out of high school with.....if you don't get coaching and development in college, you just freeze in time.

I find it both humorous and sad that UT fans can turn so quickly on him when he's still basically the 5* player from high school they expected to carry them to the next tier level. Yes, he's better than most, if not all, of their other players, but they're still confused (i.e. Why do our 5 star players turn out to be mediocre....) as to why he's not like 5 star players on the big boy teams. Sad for anyone falling into that kind of trap.

Ummm, in all fairness that was only the 4th time in the entire Pastner era (120 ish games) that Memphis has shot both 50% from the field and 60% from three.

Not lucky, but 4 of 120 is pretty darn unexpected.

Stokes couldn't be patient....made bad decision based on impulse.

You would expect more out of a grown 17yr old man.

I'm sorry I didn't make my point clear enough for you. The point was, he probably had a lot on his mind that he didn't say because he couldn't. What came out was probably just his tongue wagging while his mind was thinking about what might've been.

Yes, and it's no quick recovery. I wouldn't say that Josh "left Black out." Maybe that he "didn't force Black to play." But I doubt Pastner was extremely excited about not having Black active for the game.
