Yeah really! I mean, we lose MD and gain Louisville. If the BIG strikes again according to these facts it will be Kansas and BC. In the ACC's case, if you lose BC, then you gain Uconn.
Sorry, I don't see any conceivable way the ACC extending a membership invitation to UConn is in any way a gain.
I agree w/ Cat. If it goes down this way (please, please, PLEASE let the Big Ten take BC!), then Swofford better be on the phone to Cincinnati before BC can say "we're outa here". (BTW, #10 on the Big Ten wish list is UConn anyway... funny, they are lower than BC)

I only mentioned Uconn due to it's TV footprint being a wash in terms of Uconn. As far as recruiting grounds, fan interaction and overall football program I greatly prefer the Bearcats.

I hope we stay away from UConn. Who knows what'll happen though... USF and Cincy are still out there, but neither of those are too appealing either.

We have done the "TV footprint thing" and we are still the lowest paid Big 5 conference by a sizable margin behind conferences that don't have anywhere near the TV markets we have. That should scream out "IT'S NOT ABOUT MARKETS!!" If markets were all that then the original CUSA should have had a huge TV contract.
Add teams that actually will contribute something athletically and the long term health of a conference is better off. Louisville is the first meaningful football move the ACC planned to make since adding Miami.

No, wait, Cat... you forgot the powderpuff girls team! They could dress up all in pink, and UNC in their baby blue...

And honestly Summerville High School would be higher up the list if John McKissick wasn't 86 years old. Don't underestimate the Summerville/Ridgeville/Pringletown media market.

This is just getting sad, Georgia Tech in the Big Ten? I don't see how they fit in with a bunch of midwestern elitists.

This made me laugh. I agree with you that UConn adds nothing, but this was a funny way of saying it! Kudos and rep points!

Maybe last year and this year. Much like Clemson Newberry has been taking a lot of lumps the past few years playing freshmen and sophomores. That changes next year. W.T. Murden is one heck of an athlete (3 star rivals recruit). Had he not been insistent on playing QB he likely would be at a DI school right now playing WR or TE. Their RB Dureal Elmore is one of those kids that was overlooked because of measurables (5'9" 170lbs 4.6 40) but is a player when you put the pads on. Both of them are sophomores.
I really can't wait to see what true freshman WR Jalen Cook does as he gains experience and playing time. I went to school with his dad, and got to watch Jalen first hand. He was overshadowed in HS by Shaq Roland (not many players wouldn't be) but Jalen was a key cog in Lexington's offense for a few years.

What? That I would take Newberry before UConn? Believe it.
At least with Newberry the kids can have fun chasing the extra points and field goal kicks in the graveyard next to Setzler Field

I say bring in Cincinnati anyway and if needed as a replacement school ,one of UConn, Memphis, USF to 16/17 with ND. This would give a cushion should someone itch for what They think are greener pastures. ND might be 8 to 10 years away from a FB commitment anyway. You take out a potential Big 12 invite in UC and if ND jumps in down the road for Football, then You have 16 anyway if not needing one of the others. UC would commit to expanding Nippert or just move Games to PBS. There's talk of a new Arena on the Campus or Riverfront/Downtown.
