Are we posting "real" rumors or just anything?

Now that's an interesting thing which is never going to happen. You've gotta love expansion talk!

Note to self: "Looks like I may need to create a real nice shiny skin for both the SEC and B1G boards, and soon, b/c if GT is out the door, the ACC is officially 'officially' toast".

And now this from a WF-related twitter feed:

Quote:The Deacon Report @TheDeaconReport
Full report coming, but told B1G in hard pursuit of GT & Syracuse-ACC,not B1G lking at Kansas for quick response. #neverends

Quote:The Deacon Report @TheDeaconReport
Clarifying, ACC KU talks are preliminary. B1G talks w Georgia Tech are advanced. Syracuse talks early but real (think contiguous states)

I actually heard this (Kansas) could be possible..

Quote:The Deacon Report @TheDeaconReport
Swofford currently in powwow with Wellman among others

Quote:The Deacon Report @TheDeaconReport
We will miss @GeorgiaTechCFB!

Quote:The Deacon Report @TheDeaconReport
@GSwaim had 1/3 right. Swofford floored by Syracuse reversal 1 day after pushing for Ville. KU being considered all along, hand forced.

A day old twitter feed, with less than 10 tweets.

As David Teel says ...
Nothing I consider credible.

It's not. I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the really bad WVU bloggers trying to stir up his own rumors....

RE: ACC Rumor Mill(Realignment) MERGED THREADS
Interesting find: 2 years ago a TV network guy shared analysis of the relative value of potential B1G expansion teams (LINK). He ranked them in this order (remember, this is their value to BTN, not nationally):

1) Texas (duh)
2) Rutgers (done deal)
3 Nebraska (done deal)
4 Maryland (done deal)
5) Boston College
6) Notre Dame (duh, but already in footprint)
7) Kansas
8) Missouri
9) Syracuse

NOTE: Everyone below Syracuse was projected as a money-loser or money-neutral for BTN. Remember, these guys are convinced that they need content (BC hockey and KU basketball, e.g.) and they need cable subscribers (Boston and Kansas City)

Makes you wonder whether Delany and Swofford are in cahoots?

^ I have heavily considered that myself.

Either that, or they are playing the biggest, bloodiest money-driven game of "NCAA Battleship" ever.

Yeah really! I mean, we lose MD and gain Louisville. If the BIG strikes again according to these facts it will be Kansas and BC. In the ACC's case, if you lose BC, then you gain Uconn.

Sorry, I don't see any conceivable way the ACC extending a membership invitation to UConn is in any way a gain.

The day the ACC invites UConn is the day it's official that the ACC is the "Big (East) ACC".
