I've watched (and sometimes re-watched) EMU play four times this season and I really don't know how good (or bad) they are.
Purdue game was a butt kicking after Purdue started to roll.
BSU game was a loss to a BSU team which might be better than we think. That is why we play the games and not let computers, writers or posters pick winners. BSU was certainly the better team.
IL State game was strange. ISU had NO penalties in that game (look at my avatar) despite many blown calls. NO penalties? How important can that be? CMU had NO penalties vs. Iowa in the 1st half while building up their half time lead.
EMU led at the half and I thought they'd control the game going forward. Didn't happen and the game slipped away.
MSU - I don't think MSU brought their 'A' game and it showed. A dropped possible TD pass could have turned the game into a thriller.
The big thing, I believe, with EMU is getting 100% healthy in the defensive secondary and how well EMU's offense develops around new QB, Tyler Benz.
IF Benz can engineer an offense which is balanced and effective on the ground and in the air EMU could be fun to watch and will win their share of games.
I look for a very solid effort vs. Kent Oct 6.
EMU has talent. This isn't EMU of 10 years ago.
There is enough parity in the MAC so that on any given Saturday...
