Terry Holland: A success or failure for ECU?
So a few days ago on 99.9 The Fan, a caller called in and outright said that Terry Holland has been a failure for ECU.

Now of course none of his reasons stood up, but I wanted to bring about a conversation/debate up here to see what everyone else thinks.

He's done good by us. Facilities have been majorly upgraded and football has had success. I disagree with him on some things and don't view him as a savior that some here seem to see him as. I can't complain though, never once thought of him as a failure or needing to be replaced.

can you please keep all these random ecu threads on a ecu themed board (like boneyard banter of whatever the hell it's called)

not trying to be a prick but threads about whether or not ecu should add volleyball or soccer does not belong on a cusa board, imo.

He has been quite the success at ODU, assuming we don't chicken out.

Have you been to Boneyard Banter? One can get a serious headache with that forum format.

Terry Holland is not popular with many people outside of greenville. I know the Big East administrators think he is a joke.

RE: Terry Holland: A success or failure for ECU?
I think TH has been good for ECU, CUSA, & the Carolina/VA region. The odds are ECU will continue to be years a head of Clt & OD, yet the Pirates will regularly play in two of the largest recruiting areas in the two states; getting some of the best players ahead of other conferences.

With no AQ the need to be in the BE decreased 50%. ECU, Clt, & OD are close enough to have rivalries but far enough a part to co-exist. Teams are like manure, it's ok spread out in the field; but it stinks when it's piled up in one place.

Two conference football titles

Hosted a regional in baseball, have been to several other regionals and super regionals

Softball has won the past two C-USA tournament titles

et cetera

et cetera

I don't know why this is even a thread.

Good point. I signed the petition as a Southern Miss fan, but wondered why it was on here.

IMO, the only questionable thing that has come on his watch was the Ricky Stokes hire.

I heard that caller, and I think David Glenn had a great point... is there anyone in the universe that could have gotten East Carolina into a BCS AQ conference if he/she had the job instead of Terry Holland? The answer is no. TH did an excellent job in everything we control. Perhaps there is a person who could've gotten the job done - Dave Calhoun. But he might've sucked at all the aspects of being an AD.

We have more dumbasses per capita in our fanbase than any I know. The past few days have proven that.

Yeah I heard the reasons he tried to spit out and laughed but I felt that it was something to bring up to fellow conference fans to see what they thought about TH
