RE: Football Expectations
Should be a 3 horse race between FIU, UL, and ASU for the SBC title. But it's the Sunbelt and you never know who is going to step up. With both UL and ASU bringing back Senior quarterbacks...it will be hard to unseat those two.

I wouldnt rule out WKU who was one play away from running the table last year.
I expect us to win at least 7 games next year. One reason I'd like to expand to get to divisions is this will allow for more teams with better records. I was pleased with last year having 4 teams wit 7+ wins last year, but I think that's about as good as we can get at this point. We've come a long way from having our undefeated conf champ have a losing record.

RE: Football Expectations
The biggest problem with MT in 2011 was the wheel's fell off when we lost a few tight games(three of our first four losses were by a field goal and decided on the final drive or OT) and then after a blowout in Lafayette we just never got it together again. It wasn't a lack of talent, it was a lack of character, the team definitely quit somewhere along the line.

Which is why I love how our schedule lines up in 2012, we have a real shot at starting out 3-0 with McNeese, FAU, @Memphis to start the season, avoid a catastrophe the following week at GT and we have a lynchpin game against ULM that could get us to 4-1 headed to Miami and I think our odds of beating FIU are much higher if we go down there riding high at 4-1.

In order for us to have a successful season it's likely we'll have to go 4-0 against McNeese, FAU, Memphis and South Alabama and I think that's definitely achievable.

The tricky part after that will be going no worse than 2-3 against ULM, FIU, UNT, WKU and Troy which is not necessarily asking for the moon, but(provided we can go 4-0 against McNeese, FAU, Memphis and South) those are the four games that will determine whether we're in the bottom third, middle third, or top third of the conference next year.

I do not see us winning in Atlanta, Starkville, or Jonesboro.

I think we should be able to find four wins on this schedule and while I think there are only three games on the schedule that I cannot see us winning, I also can't see us going 5-0 against ULM, FIU, UNT, WKU and Troy, so I'll say that with a bit of luck and exceeding expectations we could win 8.

Having said all that, if we don't come out of the gate 3-0, the season is likely over right then and there.

RE: Football Expectations
I'd accept 3-4 wins for FAU, there is enough talent on the team to get that.

Id be estatic with 5-6.

Having the team with a whole new head coach and offense, there will be some catchup and a learning curve to adapt. I hope that with some new fire and dedication by the coaching staff will make the kids work and work hard.

When you lose the majority of your offense in Bobby Rainey, you take a step back.

I won't list a predicted recorded, but my expectation (since that is what this threads about) is for ULM to be the 2012 SBC champs.

interesting topic...........UL, WKU, ASU, FIU......mostly projected as tops and they all have something in common........they all play at Troy this year........We are a bit of a question......could be good, could be like last year......I hope not nor do I really think we will be....So our season may go pretty well particularly from an attendance stand point due to the quality Belt teams and the fact that Mississippi State and Navy are our other home games. Looking forward to season that could be a fun one. Always looking forward to getting that nasty taste of last year out of our mouth.

We play 13 games next season. I think we surprise as we win our first 2 with UTSA and Nicholls State coming in and surprise a couple conference foes and go 4-9.

Go JAGS!

For my friends at Middle Tennesseee, if you lose to McNeese State, do not come back on this board. McNeese idiots have been trashing this conference on their board. They believe that if they move to 1-A football, they would win the Sun Belt in the first year.

Kick their butts and show no mercy! 05-mafia

UNT: 4-8 wins
ASU: 6-11 wins
Troy: 3-10 wins
USA: 1-4 wins
ULL: 6-9 wins
WKU: 5-8 wins
MT: 2-5 wins
FAU: 1-5 wins
FIU: 7-11 wins
ULM: 1-6 wins

I'll assign a number of wins for each:
UNT: 4-8 wins - I say 5, bad 5 home game schedule, lost a ton of seniors, just not there yet
ASU: 6-11 wins - I say 8
Troy: 3-10 wins - I agree, who the heck knows, but the number is 4
USA: 1-4 wins - I say 3, thank you UTSA, Nichols State, and an SBC team who overlooks them
ULL: 6-9 wins - I say 7
WKU: 5-8 wins - Very underated team, I say 7 because of a tough schedule.
MT: 2-5 wins - Great schedule but will the real MUTS please stand up? It's hard to get that "worst beatdown in the history of the Sun Belt" out of my head from when we last played them. That was the most uncompetitive Sun Belt game I have seen since God Dodge graced the belt. Sort of like Troy, who the heck knows so I say 4
FAU: 1-5 wins - I say 2
FIU: 7-11 wins - Anything under 8 wins would be disappointing - they are freaking stacked. I say 10 wins. Hey FIU schedule guy, teach the UNT and WKU schedule guys how to schedule for success.
ULM: 1-6 wins - I say 3.

I really don't think that game has anything to do with this upcoming season.

It was clear our team had quit, had we played you earlier in the season the game would have likely been a good one.

Because you weren't lucky enough to have played us in the last few weeks of the season.

I think we would have lost to the Toronto Triumph that day...
