How hard can it be?
ACC Football Schedule Update

The holdup is FSU trying to replace the WVU game. They knew for months that it was a strong possibility that WVU would drop the series and they still haven't filled the slot?

Easy solution. Since Pitt and Syracuse are the ones responsible for schedules getting effed up from here on out tell them to decide between the two who wants to fill the slot. Lop a million off the entrance fees and be done with it.

So, who's going to "man up" and travel to Tallahasee this Fall - Pitt or Syracuse?

Syracuse has got Southern Cal at the New Meadowlands on 9/8. Pittsburgh still has an open date 9/8 but is playing at Va Tech on 9/15. I believe both Rutgers and Cincy are looking for games on 9/8, though. Either would be an interesting matchup.

It's not easy, at all, especially since we're looking for a single home game.

Probably going to end up with a second FCS

RE: How hard can it be?
It may not be that easy. The Big East teams all have a hole on their schedule where they were to play WVU. The problem for FSU is that they have only a limited number of weekends they can play Big East teams on. The Big East teams also only have a few weekends they have open.

Ok then I definately think Pitt should go to Talahassee on 9/8.

It would seem that if it was an "easy solution" they'd have done it already.

RE: How hard can it be?
Evidently harder than it appears.

This was released yesterday:
Florida State Completes 2012 Football Schedule

And since this was what we were supposedly waiting on one would assume that all we needed was to add in the FSU data and we would have a schedule.

Guess they couldn't be distracted from the Duke/FSU hoops game tonight to be bothered by anything as insignificant as a schedule.

Pitt has 6 road games already this year. We really need home games.

They are waiting on GT to schedule another FCS because of the labor day game.

I'm sure you'll find a way to complain about that too though.

Again....they knew for months about the situation, thus should have at the very least done a little contingency planning.

Some folks work schedules that require that you work the occasional Saturday and their employers require that you submit leave requests well in advance, and God knows looking at the attendance figures of most of our schools the last thing we need to do is throw roadblocks in the way of fans going to games.

GT is the one to blame for that though, not your usual scapegoat of the ACC

GT is scrambling to change their schedule because of an ACC league game against VT. The ACC sets the league schedule, not the schools.

In the case of a Monday night game the schools have to agree to it

No they don't. Clemson refuses to play home games any time other than Saturday. Even with the extra exposure it's simply not worth it because of the disruption it causes to the entire university.

I think you read what I wrote wrong. I am saying that GT and VT had to agree to this. Just like Maryland and Miami last year.

Also, VT fans love their home Thursday night game each year.
