I was gonna add this to one of the many threads on this subject, but didn't want them to get lost in the shuffle, so I started another thread. My apologies ahead of time.
Of all the considerations to bring a new team into the conference, I think the two biggest are
1. One does the new school bring a market.
2. Does the new school fit regionally (meaning each pod).
I know there are many that will tear this scenario to shreds for various reasons, but I think this scenario allows the new "Big 24 Conference" to have it's cake and eat it too.
As a fan, I've said before, I don't really care about the amount of revenue the conference or the school itself can make. I care about good football, reasonable drives for away games, and ultimately just a successful season if nothing else against teams that we're "SUPPOSED" to beat and "UPSETS" against those were not.
This proposed scenario brings in some major markets (whether the school is the big attraction in that particular media market or not (i.e. see some of the Big East invites) and creates the ability to have regional rivalries for the sake of traveling fans.
I really don't understand some of the heartache with some FCS additions, as I have some in the scenario. Looking down on them, is no different than one of the Big conferences looking down on most of us. Anyway, just my thoughts with a visual.
Have at it.
