Then why did they use different words?

Largely. And a few others who were never taught the basics of history and critical thought.

And people wonder why I'm so critical of universities.

Quote:you must be mentally challenged to think you must be Gay to support equal rights for all...

You must be mentally challenged to think that I can't recognize the logical fallacy of re-directing the question. You call it "equal rights for all", and you assume it true. I already proved it false.

See what I mean about a lack of critical thinking?

LMFAO...you couldn't prove the sky is up...

Why do you Memphis people always have pics of dead people in your signatures?

something about respecting the men who made our program what it is.

that's like asking "why do you American's put dead people on your money?"

You really don't get it do you?

1.) Wrong. You are betraying your ignorance.

2.) You don't have to be religious to be married, nor do you have to be married in a church or house of worship of any time.

I get it. And whether you ever get it or not, you'll have to sit back and watch while gay marriage becomes law of the land in all 50 states.

Hope you enjoy it. 04-cheers

1.) No. The Bible explicitly denounces homosexuality.

2.) I don't disagree. But the institution of marriage has been defined by religion and that is defined as being between a man and a woman.

Your comment insinuates you think I have a problem with gay people...I don't. Sorry if your feelings are hurt but your lying to yourself if you think you're going to Heaven...spend the rest of your life in deluded bliss. 04-cheers

the bible has no place in our government...

1.) Wrong again, and irrelevant in any case

2.) Nope. As I said before, there are religions and branches of religions that support gay marriage and perform them.

My feelings aren't hurt; i'm pretty pleased with the court ruling today, and the direction the country is headed. I don't follow your mythology, so i'm not really concerned about your opinions on where I, or anyone else, will spend eternity.

Only if you've never bothered to understand it.

Here's a primer for ya, if you are actually interested (I suspect you're not interested in anything that contradicts what you already believe, no matter how wrong-headed that belief may be, but here it is anyway):

So there cannot be gay christians because gay is a no-no in the bible and christians don't do anything that's a no-no in the bible?

“If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination.” (Leviticus 20:13)

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

We're done here. You're wrong. Deal with it.

This has been discussed in other threads...unrepentant sin. Look for Ninerfan's and Bulls posts. I won't.

Not sure about that... He's looking to the thing that is the crux of Christianity (somewhat punny, no?), to decide what is viewed as a Christian.

I'm not comfortable making that proclamation, because it isn't my decision to make. But you can't argue with his logic.

You can have a problem with Christianity, but if you're accepting it as fact while simultaneously ignoring a clear statement it makes, you're in conflict with what you believe in, and YOU are the willfully ignorant one.

No, because his basic premise is flawed, and he's not interested enough to learn why. That is willful ignorance.
