2012 UT baseball
I think we had a thread with a link to this year's schedule, but I've searched for it and can't find it. Since the start of the season is right around the corner (scheduled to start February 17th at Western Kentucky) I thought I'd start another thread.

Here's a link to a story (dated Jan. 27th) about team workouts, followed by a link to the schedule.

Several Rockets receive mention on the preseason All-MAC teams. The story I've linked to is from the UT site, but apparently the original source is something called College Sports Madness, something I've never heard of.

RE: 2012 UT baseball
Some info about the site for the 2012 (and 2013 and 2014) MAC tournament. It's obvious I'm out of touch with some of what's been happening in Ohio sports. The Lake Erie Crushers?????

I'm becoming a bigger and bigger fan of UT baseball as well as womens soccer!

Great quality play and fairly decent venues.

I hope all the Scott park venues are improved within the next ten years!!!!

What about the idea of moving baseball/softball complexes to the corner of Dorr and Byrne, which THE University of Toledo now owns and has razed. I feel it would really spark interest and they would become a lot more visible with all the traffic flow going by.

I would imagine they have that targeted as a revenue generator. Land is precious around campus. It would be a heck of a corner for a ball park though.

As of now the weather for this weekend's series looks to be OK. Maybe some rain showers on Saturday. Highs in the fifties Friday and Saturday, in the forties on Sunday.

Looks like WKU has audio (if you're willing to pay) and live stats (if you're not) for this weekend's games.

Actually UT owns all the property that the Scott Park Campus sits on. The city of Toledo leases the land for the Police Station, Safe-t-city, and the Scott Park City Ball Diamonds.

Baseball used to be on Main Campus where the Rec Center is. Most games they were lucky to get 150 people. Softball was at Carter Field. Even when they were great they were lucky to get 50 people. Don't see them moving. They have a team building and indoor hitting facility at Scott Park. If they ever put a little money into the stadiums, they would be fine.

J/C and slightly OT...

Was watching STO last night and saw a promo that told me Orel Hershiser went to BG... I never knew that.

Shame, I always liked the guy.

Played at BG AND the Dodgers- two reasons to hate him. But, yeah, he seemed like a decent guy otherwise-just made a lot of bad decisions.
