I was hoping Nick would weigh in on this news. Sounds like a super player to look forward to seeing in the midnight blue and gold.

Nick told me the other day that Marquis is up to about 300 lbs. now and still runs a 4.7 40 time...
Nebraska was in on him and another Panther to stay home and play for the Rockets...
He seems to be a great kid who has dealt with a tragic family loss this past year...

RE: Two New Football Commits
DT Marquis Moore and safety Austin Niswander are both rated three stars by Rivals.com. Moore is ranked as the #7 DT prospect out of the state of Ohio. Javon Harrison is ranked as the #7 QB prospect in the state of Ohio. Niswander is ranked the #8 athlete prospect out of the state of Ohio.

I hear that Harrison is a steal at QB and could be something special. He's about 200 pounds and built like a linebacker, but runs a 4.5 forty and is hard to bring down. He is a dual-threat QB that has a strong arm and can make all the throws. The think holding him back is his mechanics and accuracy. To put it another words, he is very comparable to TO in high school, except with about 40 more pounds of weight and a good frame. Not as tall as TO either, but arm is as good and just a raw player with a lot of upside like TO was.

I wonder if Harrison (since he is so much like TO) has major league baseball potential.

04-jawdrop I would not want to be QB and have that barreling at me!

RE: Two New Football Commits
Mathews out of Illinois is a Rivals ** and could have gotten *** had he not committed when he did at the beginning of the spring eval period and will not be camping at all because of his commitment. 24/7 has him as the 14th rated center prospect in the nation and the 21st rated player in Illinois regardless of position. Scout has him at *** but listed at the guard position nationally and the 31st rated player in Illinois. He has one Big Ten offer on the table if he opens things back up and only needed to show up at two other Big Ten camps to show his interest if he changed his mind to be offered. He is a firm Toledo commitment and thats a testament to the coaching staff in place for a kid to pass on the B1G.

Watched him wrestle several times this past year. Not an accomplished wrestler - but I doubt he has been wreslting all that long. Was improving signficantly during the year.

If he can run a 4.7/40 - I am very impressed. He is big through the thighs and though he has a lot of muscle there, he also is carrying some extra bulk. Being able to wrestle like he did tells me he is in pretty good shape - but if he can get rid of some of the "non-essential" bulk and add some more upper body muscle - he will be very athletic.

Did not hear about the family tragedy he suffered. I did see what appeared to be his father and maybe a brother at the wrestling matches I went to that he competed in. They were giving a lot of loud support to him - whoever they were.

What happened in his family?
