Ranking the MAC after Week 6
1. Western Michigan 4-2 (yes, I think they're that good)
2. Temple 4-2 (yes, I know they beat #3 head to head, but a rematch in the MACC would yield a different result)
3. Toledo 3-3
4. NIU 3-3 (by default, no one really deserves this spot)
5. Ohio 4-2 (bad loss at Buffalo)
6. Bowling Green 3-3
7. Ball State 3-3
8. Buffalo 2-4
9. Central Michigan 2-4
10. Miami 1-4
11. Eastern Michigan 3-3
12. Akron 1-5
13. Kent State 1-5

Really??? UT dominated the game. And UT is 5-1 whether everyone wants to believe it or not.

I have to agree with you on this one. We should be #3. That being said, I was impressed with the outcome against BSU.

Toledo is definely #2 over Temple...and will most likely move to #1 by the end of the season...

The top three may change positions over the course of the season, but I think 4-13 are pretty much set for the rest of 2011.

What about CeMIC?
You can't rank "CeMIC" - their signature win is only NoILL. You have to beat someone better than that to get ranked.
At least NoILL beat Cal Poly.
=====================================================
NOTE:
And the logic behind the abbreviation I use for NoILL is "recognized abbreviation for first word + 1st syllable for the state", not simply "2 letters of the first word + 3 letters of second word". I used all caps for Illinois because "Ill" looks like 3 lowercase "L"s in many fonts. So by that methodology, Central Michigan would still be CentMich, if CMU wasn't already unique and recognizable.

Yep, Cal Poly is a signature win all right.

That would be sarcasm. Thank you for realizing that it is funny.
Of course, it is also a joke at NoILL's expense (so I'm surprised you find it funny), because it says that beating NoILL is easier than beating a lower division school.

NIU, UNI = If you're not a MAC fan (or a MVC fan), do you know which is which? I didn't before I moved to the Great Lakes area. In fact I knew who Northern Iowa was before I had ever heard of Northern Illinois.
What other CMU is there? None that I can think of. No UCM either. You can't get it confused with something else - hence, it's unique.
Also - current I-A FB programs by winning percentage
Rank - - - NAME - - - - - - - Win PCT - Wins - - Losses
21 - - - Central Michigan - - 0.60615 - - 573 - - 366
64 - - - Northern Illinois - - -0.52042 - - 478 - - 439
Yeah, compared to NoILL; CMU is more recognizable by that standard too...

They play Div III ball now but a long time ago they were ranked as high as #6 in the nation in what today would be Div I teams, had the 4th best upset of all time by beating an undefeated ND team that would not lose again and only allowed two touchdowns all year, and played in the Sugar Bowl in 1938 against TCU (lost 15-7). They have a history.
