Relax everyone. Everyony was hoping that we were going to become the next Boise State or TCU. We need to win a MAC Championship before we worry about anythind else.

That being said....the D better step up or Toledo will kill us.

PS...Harnish is a stud. Enjoy it. It is very rare when to enjoy a player this good durring your student years.

Ball State isn't any good, they're not going to beat NIU.

I would love to know the answer on our defense tonight. Was it the players, the gameplan? It looked like we could not tackle very well.

Very disappointed. This will leave a very bitter taste.

He does not have the players to compete on D this year. Unless they grow up in a hurry its going to be a long year. Perhaps we can beat most MAC teams with our O but I think that we will struggle against Toledo and Western Mich

After this game I think I have had enough, told my wife I'm finally done. Will go to the Wisconsin game, and suffer thru the loss. That's it, my heart can't take anymore. I really feel for Harnish. Can you imagine how bad we are without him. Just not worth the aggravation anymore. Said I would donate to the IPF, but am backing out. Life is too short, I've had it!

The way the players perform is the reflection of coaching. The kids do what is emphasized and engrained into them. I'm very disappointed in Dave and the defense.

Everyone should take it easy. While this sucks and gets old losing late in all close games, we still went into a Big 12 school and lost on the last play of the game. It is not what we all want, but we are constantly playing on par with teams in the Big 10 and 12. The offense is outstanding, we had a couple plays go the other way, but heading in conference play we will be in great position. Chill out, enjoy the atmosphere of next week, and shoot for the MAC Championship with a strong effective offense.

It was the players and their poor tackling. It was being outweighed by 50 pounds per man on the line.

Let's not jump off the ledge just yet people. Maybe Kansas is a better team than everyone thought. It sucks always having to play the BCS teams at their place. I know we win this game at HS.
Let's get past the Wiscy game and gear up for MAC competition.

RE: Kansas Game Thread
It's possible that Kansas it a little better than we thought. Combine that with the fact that our D is young and thin....I don't expect us to be as good as last year (we lost too much) on defense but I expect to see improvement as the season goes on. That goes for Doeren too. He's a first year head coach and he's going to make mistakes. It happens. He just has to make less of them as time goes on or he won't be heading any staffs after this job.

RE: Kansas Game Thread
We lost alot of starters on defense from last year and everyone knew that this was our Achillies heel, so we shouldn't have been shocked by this showing. When we went against a smaller team in Army, the holes did not show. But against a Big 12 corn-fed o-line and a more athletic team, the D was exposed for what it is. Let Doreen and his boys regroup and fix the schemes and make player adjustments and see how we look then. The only problem, Wisko is not the game to see new adjustments.

Yeah, they really shoved it down our throats. Wisconsin won't have much trouble creating their game plan.

With 60 minutes of fan murderingly bad defense, I'm going with all of the above. Everything that could have gone bad, went bad. That was 2010 Michigan team bad.

Taking the two games in total, 1 ok, 1 WTF. I'm going to hope today was some kind of crazy outlier.
