I still want to know how that Submissive Wife question came about. Talk about setting the GOP back a couple of decades. Whose the brainiac that screens the questions and says, "Yeah, that will be a good one?"

Not me. I think it is one of his principled stances that hurts him with neocons.
I'm not a Republican or a Neocon and I think it's crazy as f**k.
This is an issue that I do not see totally eye to eye with him on. I understand the principle that a nation should be able to do whatever it wishes to do in regard to its defense. Regardless of the fact that the US caused most of the problems there in the first place does not make the current situation less dangerous. Paul...standing on principle on this issue damages him politically.
I personally am not afraid of Iran in the least. I know damn well that Israel is not going to tolerate nuclear proliferation in Iran. This will be a situation that the US will not need to be involved. Iran will suffer greatly at the hands of the Israeli's if they take this tack.
If we turn our backs on Israel, as Paul wants to do, what are they going to do it with? Do you realize what Israelis have contributed to the scientific field, and other academics in general? Take a look at the Nobel Prize history. ...and not that bullsh*t peace prize.
I have not ever heard RP say he did not want to have anything but a friendly relationship with Israel both in trade and diplomatically. Are you implying that in order to be a friend of Israel that we must defend it's soil?

Israel is a nuclear nation. They can take care of themselves. Just like if Iran lobs a nuclear device anywhere, you can expect the nuclear world to react and obliterate the entire nation. Iran is stupid, but not that stupid.
Either way, it's a good thing the president doesn't have the power to launch a war all on his own... (Oh, wait...)
This.

Show their people what freedom can do to elevate their standard of living and they won't turn to religious extremists to raise them out of poverty anymore."
But this poor defenseless Israel as the 51st state who we must shower with money and arms and frankincense and myrrh bull is truly crazy.
If being a friend of Israel only entails us defending it's soil...then I am not sure that is a friend I care that much about. I gave at the office.

Feel free to volunteer for that duty any time you wish. I understand that immigration to Israel is fairly easy.

If it was our soil being challenged wouldn't we call on our friends??? Wouldn't we expect them to lend a hand?? If you and I were walking down the street and two guys jumped you I would help you fight back. Thats what friends do. I have the scars to prove it. Remind me to never get in a bar fight with you.

Israel is perfectly capable of defending it's self. That is not even debatable and it has show that ability over and over. Let's stick to the topic at hand. Bar fights and the defense of Israel are not related in the least. I would not let you get in a bar fight anyway.

"We've" never defended their soil. We do sell them armaments. ...like we do England, France, Australia, South Korea, Japan, and many, many other countries. That's what Paul seems to want to cut but, strangely, he only talks about Israel. Hmmm, wonder why? Because the old fool is in the camp that thinks all of these terrorist attacks have something to do with us being friends with Israel. Well, F**K that. If we let those dirtbags determine who we can and cannot associate with, we might as well fold up shop right now because we are done. Russia doesn't have troops in the ME, yet they're being attacked by Muslims. The Netherlands doesn't, yet they're having problems with Muslims. The Philippines don't have troops in the ME, same f'n story. Those douchebags are causing problems all over the f'n globe and it has not a DAMN thing to do with Israel. Israel is just a scapegoat for Muslims and the pu**y politicians that don't want to take a stand.

Not if your friendship is solely contingent upon me coming to your defense every time you get in trouble. Just where is the reciprocation in that type of relationship? I'm not sure I see that much reciprocation in our relationship with Israel.
One of my Jewish friends has said this over and over. "If the US ever crossed Israel...It would attack the US just as quickly as anyone else to defend it's soil".

...and if Israel ever crossed us, we'd do the same. Do you know we had battle plans for a war with England that were on the book for over 100 years after the War of 1812?
We do benefit from Israel. A LOT.

A. Your friend isn't an Isreali diplomat so how would he know...and I doubt it.
B. You missed the point. When friends need help you give help. The US has always had strong ties with Isreal and that includes HELPING them against the other crazy rag heads over there.

Sorry Reb...I call fabrics. RP has advocated bringing home assets all over the world and has been very clear on this issue for decades. I understand your dislike of this policy due to your background..and..I respect that position...but...don't try to misrepresent his position.

All for bringing home assets, as I've stated in the past. I'm talking about our support for Israel. We don't defend their soil. We don't have troops on their soil. We sell them armament, as a trade partner. We do this with all NATO countries as well. Does he want to see that stopped? Or just to Israel?

We have given at the office. They are capable of their own defense. It is time they stand on their own without having to depend upon the fruits of my labor to do so. The same goes for the rest of the welfare military states worldwide that we are propping up. We simply can not afford it any more and as long as we are willing to foot the bills...these welfare queens are not going to step up and defend themselves.
Let me be clear...I have no less problem with Israels defense than I do with having 50k troops in Germany or the other wasted assets we currently foot the bill for all over the world. I want to scale back ALL of this nonsense.
