Obama campaigned on escalating things in Afghanistan. I would rather we either go all in or go home though.
I still want Gitmo to be closed but understand that the whole thing was so mucked up that it is just not that easy.
Libya bombing I could do without but I understand it's purpose.
Secret trials don't bother me, the US has lots of secrets. The use of waterboarding bothered me more.
And Owl, the Bush tax cuts were not extended, they expired on 12/31/2010.

"I", "I", "I", and "me". You are indeed a liberal.

Cat, I'm slightly confused, didn't Tom, by definition call himself a liberal and an Obama voter by answering the question?
I didn't vote for Obama, so I've abstained. I voted for the Senator from New York, one Hillary Clinton.

Yeah I am giving him a hard time. Was Hillary on the Presidential ballot in NY?

We got Obama because a party thought the easy way to cover their racism was to vote for a black man.

I voted for her as a write-in. and the other party tossed a woman on the ballot so they could cover up their sexism.

We got Obama as president because a huge portion of the American population doesn't follow politics enough to know what the hell they're voting for. Whether its the black guy in Harlem who can't tell the difference between Obama's policy proposals and John McCain's, or the elitist white, liberal in San Francisco who believes that his ability to give a pretty speech completely lacking in any true substance makes up for his complete lack of political experience, or the lifelong democrat in Detroit who votes straight party.

The above is in some respects just a small sample (won't go into the Lobbyist reforms that were supposed to happen, and all of the other stuff.
So did Liberals just want to get their own guy in office or are Liberals generally disappointed or disgusted with Obama's behavior?
I don't declare myself to be liberal, maybe some of the others on this board do. But I did vote for Obama because of all of his promises and I thought he would get my buddies back home from the ME. So I am very unsatisfied with that. My main problem is that he is just like the administration before him.
As far as if I will vote for him
But when you ask about getting one's own guy in office, you do so implying that it is strictly a democratic/liberal practice. You know that Republicans would vote for Hitler over Jesus if he was in their party, so would dems. We have this deep hate for the other party due to pressure from the media, our families, and friends. We often end up going for the lesser of two evils, which really clouds our judgement.

Well, I guess you already know the answer so why do you really care that none of us answered? My point was for those on here to actually LISTEN to the liberal talk radio-just a couple programs on one day(it won't kill you) and I am pretty sure they could figure it out. Since the righties won't bother to actually listen to the other side the answer is YES many liberals feel the way your co-worker feels. But I can also say that if it is Obama vs a Republican in 2012(assuming Obama is the Domocrats candidate), most would vote Obama over the Republican.

What part of the post did you not understand? I don't tend to post anything meaningful because you guys on the right would not be intelligent enough to understand it.

I understand your point as there are many people and media who will carry the water for their party mostly oblivious to any real critical judgment. But to say they would chose a murdering, fascist Nazi Dictator over a 10 commandant abiding love thy neighbor type is a bit too cynical for my taste. Care to rephrase?

That's not even remotely close to being too cynical for my taste. Then again, I'm a pretty cynical guy.
I have a very good friend who grew up protestant in Belfast. Colleen talks very candidly about how protestant children were taught to hate Roman Catholics, and vice versa, without regard to any logical reasoning. That seems to me to be where our political discourse is headed.
